Oh I did not intend to offend the gods but I do have a good sized BOC box colecting bits in my closet. If need be I'll perform the penance.

Now you've done it! You have publicly coveted the Box O' Crap. The Gods are displeased. You must confess your sins and, as penance, when the box reaches you, you must pull everything out, donate it all to your local bike co-op, and replace it all with NOS crap. Be thankful. It could have been worse. Luckily sacrifice to Kong was not involved...
J.Oxley would just snap up all that NOS crap before it got to you... |

PM me, I'll send you a proper address to send the penance...PNW...not to far off the Willamette River...:innocent: |
Booyah - BOC is on its way to J.Oxley.
There's a rear mech. in there that was begging for a bike to be built around it. I didn't listen, will be interesting to see where it ends up. |

I hadn't expected the fun that came along with the gf saying "There's a box on the porch for you; it's real heavy. What is it??"

Can I just say that even though I'm not on the list I really enjoy this thread. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to post pictures.

I'd better get my **** together. |
I'm very curious about this rear derailleur you guys are speaking of...maybe J.Oxley can remove a bunch of the heavy garbage and leave me all the choice high end bits.

The eagle has landed!!
The "toying with fate" pic: http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...psu9rjspy8.jpg ...Tape those edges, gentlemen!! And of course the teaser: http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...psvlikeibh.jpg |
Wow. Kinda Surprised to see the NE edge blown out like that. Sorry about that J.Oxley - my fault.
It was in sound shape when I shipped, that damage took some effort... Keep the box fresh, all. |
You know that VC cap is straight up Portlandia, just sayin'

And it was already probably a keeper. Now? Definitely. |

...It's interesting watching this box evolve (this is my 3rd visit from the BOC). First time around it was nothing but parts. No bags, no boxes, no rhyme nor reason; just a crapload of random pieces from random bicycles. This time around the only actual bike parts I scored are some 29-cent rim strips (how old were those?) which are already in service on my Univega and an owl-shaped bottle cage that my wife totally swooped in on (pun intended) the moment she saw it. And overall the contents these days are far more... eclectic. :) I've never seen Breaking Away, and no cap shall leave my house unless it's on my head. The two wrenches were just cool. That shifter-boss cable stop is headed straight for my wife's '64 Schwinn (oh hey! that's another bike part!). An unexpected and interesting haul. :p EDIT: Anticipated ship date of Monday 9 May, although if things go right it could be on the truck tomorrow. |
