When orphan hubs get paired up, I think a bike angel gets its wings, haha. I have a DA front hub from the same era laced to a crusty tubular from a Raleigh Technium that was left outside for too long. Planning on sniping the hub out and trying my hand at wheel building. I have a DA group to match minus the brake levers. Should be a fun build.

Guilty, it was sent to me as a dropout brace on a frame I bought. I know my limitations and hate to even true wheels let alone build them.

Dropout brace?!?

Seller have any more frames that need a home?

;)

Especially since it looks like it has the DA QR too!

The box has landed!

This time around the box arrived remarkably good shape:

I had a lot of fun going through the pile as usual, there's some interesting bits in there and more literature than usual. Here's what I'm keeping:

Box will be on its way to Massachusetts tomorrow morning.

Woot! Woot!

Drillium Dude 05-08-17 06:48 PM

Are those Campy or Superbe gum hoods? Either way, quite the score for the BOC :)

Should be lots of room for fresh cr@p. On the way to Spaghetti Legs in the next day or two!

The crap is flowing nicely now!

Fahrenheit531 05-12-17 07:25 AM

I told my wife as we went through the box, "Someone has a bike that's dreaming of this green tape. Either that or they'll build a bike around it." Anxious to see nlerner put it to use.
...And no, I didn't put it in there. I just moved it along as neither case applied to me. :)

Spaghetti Legs 05-12-17 08:19 AM

Anxiously waiting ...

I am astounded that Thomson post fit in the box. It's magic!

Haha, I thought the same thing regarding the green tape.

@Drillium Dude, those are campy hoods. One of the slightly imperfect ones that, that ebay seller has, he's been mentioned on here a few times.

nlerner 05-12-17 12:31 PM

I have one project in mind for that green tape--we shall see.

BOC is in the hands of USPS and off to Spaghetti Legs!

gugie 05-12-17 12:43 PM

The Crapmaster is busy keeping up with updates again!

Put it in the box and they will build it...

zze86 05-12-17 03:59 PM

The green tape was from me. Glad to see it generated so much interest. Judging by the pics, I'm happy to say almost all of the "big" items I threw in have been taken.

I gotta say, seeing your stuff get pulled out to be used is maybe more satisfying than taking stuff out.

Box arrived yesterday while I was out of town. Got back just now and sifted through the crap.

Here's my haul. Waiting to hear back from echo victor on a mailing address.

Nice job on fitting the bike frame in the box. It's my size!

Good deal - they look good, and the ones in the thread regarding the Ebay seller looked good enough, too. I guess the proof will be in how durable they prove to be.
