Oh Mr Crapmaster:

I was supposed to be added back in the list but didn't see my handle in there. Was it something I said?

BOC karma comes from sending the box on with cooler stuff than when you received it. And of course having the box burst mid-journey would be very bad indeed.

Holding on to the BOC for a month is very bad for Karma.

Hmmmmm, not sure if I forgot to hit the save button last time. Double checked, you're in now!

Thanks for the rec J.Oxley, it may have to go that way but I was hoping not to scrap anything. Almost everything in there is usable from freewheels, old tools, to random bits. How does the crap community feel about a second, smaller box sent in addition to the main box that won't get circulated, but merely given out? The person getting it could be selected in some sort of random method.

Update?

I want photos! That's in the rules.

Right now I'd be satisfied with seeing the box actually move.

Fahrenheit531 04-28-17 01:01 PM

Got a PM saying it was going to ship today and a tracking number would follow. That's all I've got.

romperrr 04-28-17 01:24 PM

Gosh darn that took FOREVER

Hello ya'll, happy to say the box is sealed tight and on its way. I've included pictures of the box when it was open, right before I wrestled it closed, and the crap I kept.

Sorry for the extreme delay sending it out, really dropped the crap on this one. Not my finest showing. If any of you are in the Detroit area, the first round is one me.

Cheers.

Ladies and gentlemen...

I present to you...

a box.

On Arrival:

On Opening:
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...ps5t13wk5b.jpg
(Note that technically a big red folder was on top. FIFY.)

Expect a Friday departure in honor of Tucson's first 100+ degree day of 2017. Guess I should get in touch with someone.

Holy crap, people... there is a BOX here. With crap in it, no less! Gonna go see what's in there.
Yep.
A looooong road, that.

gugie 05-03-17 10:54 PM

Man, that's a new record.

Wrong kind, but a new record nonetheless.

Let's matriculate the box down the road with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind, alright?

Fahrenheit531 05-04-17 10:31 AM

My haul:

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...psurwtb5bx.jpg

Actually grabbed three mismatched straps, not just the one. But two immediately went into temporary use on the Peloton while I wait for the real ones to get here. Slow with the camera. hahaha

Box ships tomorrow! :thumb:

Note that some items pictured in the teaser above may not continue on, even though they're not included in the "taken" pic (I'm looking at you, shaving kit bag.) ... the box required a bit of cleanup. ;)

Kobe 05-04-17 10:52 AM

I don't know why but this is one of my favorite threads. Good to see the box is moving again.

gugie 05-04-17 11:09 AM

I think it's time to review rule #11, and the definition of "borked"

Don't ship a box full of broken freewheels, dork disks, headset reflectors, one armed cranks, etc. Every blue moon or so I receive a PM from a BOC playuh venting about the crappiness of the crap. This may sound redundant, but there's good crap, and bad crap. A french threaded set of Look pedals, for example, might be crap to most of us, but someone out there has an old french bike, they want to keep it original, and would love to have them.

Put something you love in the box, and the karma you receive will far outweigh the loss of some nice bit you've been saving for years, but haven't found the right bike for it. Somewhere down the line someone will take it and have an immediate use for it. Your cockles are sure to be warmed.

ecnewell 05-04-17 11:54 AM

Fair and generous crapmaster, if you please, I wish to giveth and receiveth the crap. I pledge my solemn oath not to constipate the box or fill it with broken reflectors. ;)

Groveleth, you have, addeth, you will.

Andy_K 05-04-17 12:57 PM

You know, I've got a couple of incomplete frames in the garage and a pile of crap that isn't right for them. I could use both more and less crap.

All powerful crapmaster, will you add me to the queue?

Ah, the plight of the wrong crap.

Queued, like the set of assembly instrutions you're supposed to be working on...

I'm working on out-of-order execution. Sometimes I think about work stuff when I'm at home. :p

My lord, who put in a 7403 Dura Ace hub in the box of crap?! I currently have no need for one, but would have invented one on the spot!! :D
