What is the model of this Gazelle frame?

Hello;

I am going to buy the frame in the photo.

Does anyone knows the model and the year of that frame? It would be wonderful if I could see the renovated original one.

Um, that fork has been damaged. Unless you're planning on using only the frame, I'd pass.

Bikes: Yes, please.

Welcome, burakkilic@gmai! My guess it's an early seventies Gazelle sports bicycle, possibly a Cheetah. That fork looks a little suspect, BTW.

^ Looks like it - but note difference in the fork rake!

I'm sure the one you're thinking of buying has been damaged.

It could be as late as mid 80s, here is my 85 Gazelle

here is mine and check that fork rake and slack angles compared to my Fuji road bike. Drillium Dude, looks ok compared to mine.
These things track like they are on rails and require effort to turn them.

I'm in the 'fork is bent' crowd. Note how the fork immediately from the crown, takes a shallower angle. The for on Bwilli88's bike continues the angle of the headtube before starting to curve.

I agree it could be bent but I think it could be straightened as it is not far off from straight

Thank you for all your answers and welcome messages. People of this forum seems very responsive, I liked it so much.

I stopped to buy that frame after your comments. What I need is a road bike frame from 70's I guess.

Thank you.

+1

The fork is DEFINITELY bent forward at the crown. Damage like this comes from jumping curbs and similar abuse. This is a good example of a low end transportation model with a frame made of "gas pipe" tubing" with pressed forkends and so on.

Trying to straighten those forks would more than likely damage them worse than they are and could result in catastrophic failure in use if they don't crack while being worked on.

I've seen it happen on bikes like this in the 1950's.

Bikes: LESS than I did a year ago!

Jumping in on the fork is bent crowd...while I usually try to not evaluate this based on pictures (too much opportunity that the set up of the picture caused the look), this one appears that the rake of the left and right side are different! At least to my eye...and that really does indicate damage...

I'm glad you didn't buy it. If you care to share with us what you need or want the bike for, we might be able to give you a few pointers. Where are you located, BTW?

Nice to see someone from Turkey here. Bikeforums' a hoşgeldiniz!

What you can always do is what you just did: post pictures of the bikes you find here and ask for opinions. We love pictures of bikes and we love to give opinions.

Ain't that the truth

I'm also glad the OP passed on this. Definitely damaged from curb-hopping or some similar activity. I think we can assist him in finding a good one somewhere along the line.
