Ideor 24" Wheel Juvenile

Chanced today upon this ebay listed Ideor 24" wheeled road bicycle. Had not before heard of such from the maker. Machine presents numerous questions as in "is it a real Ideor?" and "how much of it is original?"

Seller states it has been completely reworked and lists some of the fittings which have been replaced.

There are two bits of small print writing on the downtube transfer which may offer possible clues. One looks as if it may say "DENOVA", while the other I cannot get started on. Style of transfer looks to be quite a bit later than the more commonly seen Ideor transfer set.

Wonder if there may have been a successor to the Ideor marque of 1946-63.

Wheels and brake calipers obviously a good deal later than most of the balance. Seller states handlebar replaced as well.

Chainset is an Agrati thompson/thun pattern one. Pedals appear to be Sheffield Sprint 673. Frame built with the aid of Agrati bits. Its bulge-formed head is Agrati "AM" N. 000.8046. This is the same head used for the Ideor Super model bicycle:

Interesting bike. It could be an early 60's model. Keep in mind that just about all Italian bikes of the era would have had Campagnolo components, not necessarily top tier.

89 Euros isn't bad. The seller doesn't say if he's willing to ship to the USA.

I'm not sure about the 60's, but in the early 70's in the USA, "midget" racers were required to use bicycles with 24" wheels. My bike was a hand-me-down old 5 speed, probably with steel cranks, that we fitted narrow aluminum clincher wheels on, and chose the maximum allowable gearing.

The top tier (nationals level) racers had some very nice bicycles, including 24" sewup tires, I think.

Those fat tires look a little odd. Cyclocross bike?
