the seat pillar is 22.5 inches.
As Im sure you all have worked out Im no expert on this, but Im really enjoying the learning proses. I brought it as a complete bike with what seems to be mainly high end components, the only thing missing was a saddle, after speaking with my dad, turns out he has a vintage leather saddle in his shed.
anyhow once if finished the build ill be posting the results.
thanks again for your help and really hope we can identify it together.

The "pillar" dimension requested is not the seat tube length, but the size of the seatpost hole; tells something about the tubeset -- butted or not, Imperial or metric.

given the probable inaccurate measurements (the caliper is rounding UP, I'd say) better would be to look for a marking ON the seat post, if there is no mark or no seat post then take it to a Local Bike Shop that has a seat post sizer. But very likely this is Imperial tubing and so even more likely it's a British bike of some brand.
