Post-Christmas Minuteman area ride, anyone?

Continuing the tradition we intend to host a Boxing Day C&V ride again this year, weather permitting of course. That's the day after Christmas, if you didn't know. (Actually, it's the day after Christmas whether you knew or not.) Daylight is limited this time of year. We'll start around 10AM in either Bedford or Lexington, MA and cover at least 40 miles.

This year I hope to do 45 to 50 miles, but I haven't worked out the route yet. If I can work out a good route I'd like to ride The Road That Time Forgot (whose name I won't tell you) and also a mile or so of the Bedford-Billerica Narrow Gauge Rail Trail. The BBNGRT is packed gravel but I've ridden it on my Masi with 23mm tires and we've done that section on the tandem several times. Unless the surface is bad from recent precipitation it is quite nice.

We have also had a request to ride on the post-Christmas Friday. Of course it isn't an either/or situation; we can do both!

If you think you can make it drop me a PM or send email to jimmuller at rcn dot com.

The weather-permitting clause may be operative this year. Already the weather is colder than last (high temperature below freezing today) and there may be snow or ice on the roads from an "event" predicted for this Monday. We reserve the right to cancel at the last minute if necessary...

If any of you will be in the Boston area (pronounced Bahstan are-er) but without a bike, you are welcome to borrow one of mine if it cam be made to fit. They are all 58 or 59cm.

Let's go for a ride. Bring your Smartwool socks!
