Ha, this reminds me of my own bike:

-Campagnolo Centaur FD with Torpedo cable stop
-SRAM X9 mountain RD, medium cage
-Simplex Prestige friction shift lever for FD
-DIY friction shift lever for RD (because of that SRAM 1:1 exact actuation cable pull thing...)
-original cottered cranks & BB (waiting the BB to give up, TA 93 crankset & matching BB is waiting with MKS Sylvan road pedals)
-Wellgo pedals & plastic cages
-50-40 chainrings of unknown source
-Shimano 8spd cassette & chain

I'm counting parts from ~8 different manufacturers, all working for my purposes in complete harmony. If I add the bits used to stop me from full speed, there's two extra brands:
-Tektro R559 long reach calipers
-Shimano 600 brake levers (diy leather brake hoods)
-Jagwire cables

Oh yes, it's a french bike. =)

Very cool. but... don't you need a rack or a bag, or both? You could REALLY push the envelope in new directions.
