Nahbs 2017?
Turns out I'm going, flying out to Salt Lake City tomorrow. I'll spend most of my time at the Cherubim booth, so if any of y'all are going, stop by and say hey. I'll be the chunky old guy who's not Japanese.

I'd love to see some photos from you too! Or, to be honest, anyone's photos, since I won't be there.
Any chance that you can tell us about your relationship with Cherubim? They've always got some wild bikes on display!
Steve in Peoria (and definitely not in SLC)

I'll try to get some snaps, but it's hard to get away from the booth when you're actually working a show.
Just had the shower handle come off in my hand, have to shower in another room. Hopefully it gets smoother from here. For the record, I've manipulated lots of shower handles in my day---this one was plain busted.

All the best at your booth.
I predict excellent results.

The good news is I had time to wander a bit and take some pix. The bad news is I had time to wander a bit and take some pix. I would have preferred more foot traffic and spending more time in the booth, but whaddya gonna do?
I'm not going to be able to post my pix till I get home, hopefully tomorrow. I'm kinda flying into a blizzard, if the Jersey snow holds off til late Mon nite I may actually get to land. Otherwise maybe I get stuck in SLC for a bit?
I posted some phone pix to my facebook page, be forewarned they're pretty Cherubim-centric:

So Konno told me that Cherubim built Specialized Sequoias at some point after San Rensho stopped building for Spec'l. He said they still have some frame bits left over. I don't recall hearing that before.

Oh, crikeys! Thanks for the correction. I'll figure out how to correct that...tomorrow.
No flights into the northeast for two days---have to stay in SLC till Wed while Blizzard Stella slams Jersey.
I figured how to upload some pix from my cam to flickr using my phone, but it looks like it's only uploading down-rez'd files. It takes a long time for each image, and they look pretty crappy, so I'll go for a re-do after I get home.
In the meantime, here's a few crappy down-rez'd pix:

^Thanks for the pics, pcb. Cherubim entries are wild as always. On the silver, fendered bike, are those fenders welded onto the frame/fork? Btw, how many frames would you estimate they make each year on average?
Safe travels!

That Dave Kirk looks like a weapon.
Thanks for the pictures!
Have a good trip back, Stella seems to be not as bad as predicted so maybe you will get back sooner.

The fenders are aluminum, the skirt is cut from sheet aluminum, then they're welded together along with aluminum tubes with setscrews that slide on the struts to adjust fenderline. The setup is really slick---the strut dropout-side ends are threaded, and screw into threaded sockets that are brazed to the dropouts. The fenderline is adjusted by sliding the fender/skirt tubes on the struts, then tightening the setscrews. No ugly bolt heads poking out anywhere, and lots of hours spent fabricating it all.
How he thunk it all up is pretty amazing. Maybe I'll post a few more pix later. Kinda irks me how time it takes to post down-rez'd, muddy files. But it's pretty cool stuff.
Cherubim has 4 builders, including Konno and Keigo Hirota, the other fella in the pix. Their annual output is under 400 frames, with a bunch of those built for Keirin riders. They have a small retail outlet in Aoyama (Tokyo), so some production goes to stock the store.

I'd be happy to chat and take a deposit any old time! :^**
They do build more-traditional lugged steel frames with round tubes if that's more of a boat-floater for you.
I have more Weigle shots, but if you google "playboy weigle" there's already plenty out there. Like I just posted, I'm annoyed at how much time it takes to post the muddy files getting posted. On the other hand, I'm just sitting on my keyster in SLC
I was mostly checking out the undercarriage hoping to find a serial number, thinking it might help me date my Weigle. Peter hasn't gotten back to me yet with any build info, so I was hoping a number on the playboy bike might help me get closer to a build date.
