Help with the frame!
 

Hoi!

I just bought vintage road bicycle from some guy for restoration! The problem is that, the frame doesen't have any decals.
Only on BB there is a Nervex lug stamp, and also some frame number. The top tube size is 56cm;
This frame have Simplex dropouts, and huret allvit groupset, TA Cranks.I think its some vintage 60-70s frame from France;
So maybe someone can help me to find out the frame brand of this bicycle?

Looks like the top tube has big decal on it; is that not a bike brand/model decal?

I would suspect that is the model or the brand and model

Def a Pug. Those cyclotourist cranks are half of the value alone.

What is the seat post diameter? I presume the seat tube's outer diameter is 28.0mm (French).

Perhaps Peugeot, but the decals remind me of Gitane or Bertin. It could also be some other marque made by Motobecane, Peugeot, or Gitane.

I have never seen a Peugeot of that vintage with Huret derailleurs -- they all came with Simplex.

more pix, better pix...I also thought "Peugeot" at the first glance, but now am not as sure...it's French, anyway!

Definitely French, but I don't think it's a Peugeot.

I do think the sticker on the top tube might be a hint as to the bike's branding and not just a sticker someone slapped on. Col d'Aspin in a mountain pass in the Pyrenees that's been part of the Tour de France many, many times. Super Course is a model name or description that's been used by a number of makers.

Hoi! Yes, I know that sticker is just a sticker :) .I also think that this is not a Peugeot. One guy in Holland from a local store told me maybe it's Gitane. I check out some pictures on the internet and saw that Peugeot frames have a different frame number locations.

I don't think Gitane, either. Could you take a close-up of the Rear Dropouts? The one with the blurry Huret Alvit seems to be an old Simplex DO (the thinner "stamped" style maybe) but hard to make out the details.

Braze-on housing stop at south end of down tube has broken loose.

Crown appears to be an EKLA Extra Light model -

This raises the possibility of a Belgian origin. (Some Belgian cycles are built to metric dimension, although most are built to BSC/ISO standard)

does the fork also have Simplex ends? (to match the Simplex DOs, and thanks for the clear pics)

Might not be the original fork in that case, what brand are the fork ends?

One could check the steerer to see if it is 25.0mm or 25.4mm OD.

I would say late 60's higher end French while vintage correct I don't think most of the parts are original so I wouldn't go by them to ID.

Most of the elements of the frame here seem consistent with those of the Dutch marque JOCO. The cylindrical cable stops, Nervex/Ekla mix, non-matching dropouts/tips, the vertical head tube rivet holes (would be interesting to know the distance between them) and the serial number format/location/orientation seem to match.

I don't know enough about the serial number system JOCO used but there seems to be at least one person on oudefiets.nl who claims to know.

With all that said, the seat tube outside diameter here (if correct/accurate) is a little confusing...
