Rando front rack for side pull brakes?

I've been looking at the different Nitto rando style front racks (e.g. M12) and they all seem to be for Center pull and cantilever brakes.

Am I right that the VO Randonneur rack is the only one that will work for side pulls?

I have a Nitto M-18 on my centurion Pro Tour. You need something like this even for centerpull brakes. I bought the 42cm rack supports from rivendell. These go all the way down to the fork dropout braze-ons.

The Nitto Mark's Rack M1 was designed for sidepulls. Not cheaper than the VO rack you have in your sights, though: https://www.rivbike.com/collections/...-rack-m1-20108

I'd imagine you'd need a rack that attaches as such:

Thanks. With the longer supports do you feel comfortable exceeding Nitto's 4.4lb weight limit recommendation?

No, there's a Gilles Berthoud rack for sidepulls.

Berthoud products from Peter White Cycles $172 Mounts on fork lowrider braze-ons.

Still happy you found that bike. Gives me a smile every time I see it!

Does it matter, I wonder, that the bike shown above is equipped with centerpulls rather than sidepulls?
