Problems using VeloBase site

Is anyone else having difficulty with VeloBase? I can open the home page, and then log in. But, trying to advance through any of the categories beyond its first page just gets me nothing what so ever. In particular I was trying to search through the Tires category, but no matter how I went about browsing, either using their search function or just clicking on the next icon or a page number, I got no where. I have noticed that the Components selection would not work for several weeks now, but today is getting absolutely no where for me.

Maybe you shouldn't log in. I never do and it works fine for me.

It's whatsoever.

Similar problem here! I don't log in incidentally. But let's say I search for "Shimano brakes" and there's more than one page of results. I can view the first page but attempting to go to the next page is futile.

On a Mac. I can't recall if I've had the same problem on my PC.

Seems to be working fine for me. I didn't sign in, but I can click through all the component list and look at multiple pages of derailleurs with no trouble.

I've found that the search engine sometimes won't find a component that I can find by Googling "velobase + component" - it's there but the search engine doesn't find it. Sometimes I don't get the same results if I'm searching by brand and navigate to the component vs searching by component type and so on. I don't login.

Velobase.com works fine, but it's not fully compatible with all web browsers. For example Apples Safari can't view in gallery mode.

Velobase.com is an amazing place for information. I just wish it used a more modern content platform, that goes for this forum as well!

Anyone that still uses Photobucket.com in the modern age of 2017 should have there head examined. Pure rubbish.

Perhaps your right and it is an OS or browser related issue. Mine is set to keep me logged in or autologin. I just did your "Shimano brakes" example and it went to the second page without issue. Running WIN 7 and tried using Opera, Chrome and Thunderbird browsers successfully. I usually use Opera for the Bike Forum and Velobase.

VeloBase has been working fine for me, but I rarely "search" per se. Usually I just pick a category and jump through the pages until I get to the brand/model I'm after. If it's in the database.

I tried it both logged in and logged out, same problems with both scenarios. I prefer to be logged in when I am on any web based forum, just my own shortcoming. I am on Mac though, never thought about that as its new to me to be working on an Apple platform, my second strike against me I guess. I realize now this happened when I switched to my Mac back in mid-May, I cannot get to a Component List to look at a particular item, nor does the search function work at any level, logged in or off-line.

I do appreciate how good VeloBase is, I regularly go there to both research things and to contribute, when I have something to offer, that I am certain of. Sometimes the site seems to be unmonitored, I have asked a few questions about getting some administrative assistance that still has not been acknowledged. I will figure out a work around so I have their data base available to me, its one place that I am confident about.

Photobucket is something I just don't use. I am not a big proponent nor user of picture attachments, strike three on me sothat must mean I am out of here or something like that. Not sure how that particular topic came up though. EDIT: what a bunch of malarkey that company has pulled. They can go pound sand.

Thanks for the advice and the suggestions, I'll look into a second browser app for my Macbook in the meantime. Much appreciated.

Bill

It seems to be Safari, no matter if I am logged in or just in lurker mode things don't work there for me. I can use my wife's business systems to visit it on a PC platform easily, just choose from two desk tops or a laptop and bob's yer uncle, I'm in.

I'll just deal with things. Appreciate everyone's input and help.
