Wow, I've had a couple of 70s St. Etiennes. One was from the dump and thus free. The other was $50. Inflation sure is a b*tch.

is this the price for a bike or a vacation to st. etienne? Pretty fair for the latter, probably not so much for the former

Quite rare brand but the lack of name recognition hurts the value. I had a late 1970s, mid-range, competition model with Reynolds 531DB and Simplex/Nervar/Mafac components.

Back in the early '70s, during the Gas Crisis and Bike Boom, one of the local Honda car dealers had a promotion of giving away a St Etienne bicycle with any new Civic. Back then the Civics were selling for $1995...
