Handle Bar Blues
We just came back from our cross Canada tour where I rode my Surly LHT with Velo Orange Crazy Bars. Today I took my Miyata 610 out that have Nitto drop bars. I really did not enjoy it as much. So now I am wondering what my options might be? I think I am drifting toward the Grant Peterson style of cycling.
Thoughts??

Bikes: Bikes??? Thought this was social media?!?
Stop. Before it's too late. GP cycling means no lycra, no clipless, no going fast, fenders for life, 650B, fat fat tires, double top tubes. There is no hope if you commit to that road.

I really love my Albatross bars with bar ends. Planning to try the Crazy Bars on a future build, or maybe putting them on my MTB. There is so much variety in drops though that I'm sure it's possible for anyone to find a drop that works for them.

Looked at the VO crazy bars. Never had bullhorns, but I do like to stretch out. Possible problem (for me) is that at times (headwinds), i feel the need to get low and narrow. 38 and 40cm wide bars for me, so I would cut the ends of the bars some. I do have the bike for it - bar-end shifters and French and brown. Hmmnn... maybe. Besides, i need diversity.

Maybe you didn't like the Nitto because you had become so used the other one. Give it more time, perhaps?

Don't fight the inevitable, get yourself some sandals and flannel and enjoy it.
Seriously though, one of the reasons I have 4 bikes is because they are all different. If you put Crazy bars on the Miyata you'll have no need to keep it.

One option for keeping the drops would be to add some secondary brake levers and move the primaries a bit which would give you multiple good riding positions.

Of course, I just came in the house to wash my hands before I wrap my Soma Oxford bars with maroon cloth tape, tie them with twine and seal them with clear lacquer. I may be biased. (on my vintage Trek 500).
