That Cinelli deserves Tubulars.

Well, I have a 1984, and it is at the bottom.

Very nice!

I would of course lose sleep over the cranks. But I am not normal. I do expect the guys in shiny white coats to arrive at any time now.

Yes it bothers me too. I have the Record cranks for the group but it has 52-42 rings. I wanted a 39 tooth and was too excited for the build to switch the rings over. It is on the project list though!

Hey John. I'm sure with many things date is either off some or rolled over. That's why I initially said about 83'. I missed that you said yours had it in 84'! I don't think I have seen that one.

Either way I like about all Cinelli. My "modernish" dream road bike would be a Starship. Hint, hint. Anyone out there? 58-60cm please. Their newer track stuff is cool too.

Just curios, what is the final build weight on the Cinelli?

Interesting. My 84 has same decal placement, but the chain stays are not crimped.

Agree 100%. Performs flawlessly, too.

Nice bike you ended up with. I hope the bar change brings about a better riding position.

Blue wasn't a color I like for bikes too,......till I saw and bought this some months ago.....

Now I'm in love with blue bikes!
I'm really enjoying this thread as the subject bike is so similar to my 88/89 Montello in many ways.....

Great build! It’s a striking color in person.

Ahh yes, gorgeous, I thought of yours when I got the frame!

Chombi1 - the bike weighs 22.7 lbs, frame/fork/headset weight is 6.25 lbs. That Pinarello is sweet. I've mentioned elsewhere that I'm a sucker for a chrome rear triangle.

Regarding blue bikes: there is a blue bike thread around here somewhere and a couple of years ago I put my Tommasini in it with its blue to white fade as my only blue bike. Now, without color ever really being a factor in a purchase decision, I have (ahem) a few blue bikes.

I usually do not like it when people quote posts including the pictures. It just takes up space and makes scrolling boring.

Not this time. Please continue.

It's not the bar drop. You've just gained weight.

Beautiful ride. Will carve the Parkway just fine.

My kingdom for some Vento HP16's.....were I of the pasta pantalones.

Mine was not an excellent climber, in regards to having to pay attention because the handling was so quick. Side by side, my Pinarello Montello seemed to climb better, but descending at speed belonged to the Cinelli.

Sometimes, it's just the build. Each bike has a personality.

Beat me to it, so you bring one you like, I take that, you take his, and we'll run like hell.

Perhaps a set of Eurus with silver rims...

Nucleons are the obvious choice, but I'm not sure how that would work on 8s.

Second choice is a set of Campy Strada/Omega to Record hubs.

Yes, good choice.

Look great, ride great, durable.

I have two sets here, one is earmarked for a Sintesi build that I am too lazy to finish.

I’d thought about the Omegas. Good to hear a positive review.

I found a set of Campy Shamals locally, got all excited for Hugh, (tubular, 8s Campy) and then saw "650c" in the description.

Bummer.

Now I wonder what was running 650c back then that would have been Campy-oriented....?
