I sold mine after picking up a very low mile C5 Corvette Z06. Stupidest thing I ever did. Driving a Miata is just an experience in and of itself. It truly does tickle your soul and you find yourself just smiling.
Unfortunately the Miata is suit that is too small for me, not enough legroom, if you can stand over a 25.5in CV frame it becomes a very uncomfortable suit. Funny, no problem fitting in either of these though. Tim

At 6'5", I'm always a touch too tall for Miatas, and that ends up being the true deal breaker. A C5 Z06 is a great car, and I'm a fan of C5s in general (you can fit a bike in the back of the long glass coupes, like you can in my Camaro). Don't know why Mazda put the NC's shifter so far to the right of the driver--my Z28's 6-speed is tucked nice and close to me, and really the ergonomics of it are well-sorted for my height (at the very least). The sound from the intake/headers/cats/loud exhaust ranges from burly-yet-friendly to apocalyptic-bent-on-revenge. The accompanying shove is great, too.

.
I thought the shifter was in a perfect location. Just lay you arm on the console and shift with your fingers. You don't even need to move your hand. Sweet!

Trading one addiction for another one (or 2)

After a DUI in a company truck, a good friend of mine quit drinking cold turkey, but now he hangs out at Indian casinos every night to fill the extra time he has from not boozing.

People are funny

It was a super short throwing transmission. My Camaro's T56 is a bit longer. It's what we are or get used to, but that's fun to experience with cars. NC's are so high strung in every manner, which is the point. And certainly they are that way compared to the absolute (and relatively precise-in-metering) sledgehammer that the Camaro can be when it's not trundling around like a Labrador Retriever on a sunny day. I'd have to adjust to the NC's continual urgency, but would happily do that. As it stands, torque and a doubel-barrel V8 soundtrack are a heck of a drug.

Long live the Miata. And long live the Mullet Missile.
