Unique Vintage Steel
Snapshot of my Gazelle with the crank which will be part of the restoration this spring. I know it's not a classic crank, but the bike will certainly leap off the line with it.

As I got the back a few weeks ago. Neither the owner nor I knew who made the frame.
With a little forum help, it turned out to be a 1975ish Raleigh Grand Prix.
In its current state:

https://justbicycles.com is where I bought my kid a banana seat bicycle. He tore the seat and I need a new one (emerald green) and the site doesn't carry accessories. Does anyone know where I can get a emerald green banana seat?

My old bike isn't too glamorous - it's a 1980 Raleigh Super Record that I bought new. Super Record doesn't refer to Campy gear - this is a model that slotted between the Raleigh Record and the Grand Prix. OK-quality Suntour components, a decent chrome-moly frame, etc.
Mine is in excellent condition, with an almost-like-new paint job (steel-blue and black, with gold detailing on the butt joints). It's mostly original. I dumped the stem-shifters that it came with for some 1980 NOS Suntour downtube shifters. Only other changes are a modern Lemond seat, and Shimano Ultegra pedals. Oh, and I replaced my old 1980 Cannondale handlebar bag with a NOS identical replacement.
It's got a 52/42 crank, and the 5-speed freewheel has stump-puller gearing (14,18,23,30,34), so it is a decent hill-climber, which I need, out here in northern CA. (The bike is a decent hill-climber, but unfortunately I am not!).

Here's a link to my first retro road project...a '87 Alan Record Carbonio. I'm just getting started but it will be a 7-speed C-record build; mostly NOS and 100% Italian.

Here's a couple of riders
The Grand Prix is an excellent commuter/fun bike that works great even in the snow and the Super Sport is classy and rides well, but just a bit tall for me so gets less use these days, both have been converted to fixed gear rides.

Hello all,
Just wandered onto this forum for the first time...WOW; great stuff.
Here's a few pics of a previous winter project. (wish I still had the before shots to show how nasty it was when I rescued it)

Cyclotoine,
Thanks, when I got the bike it looked like it had been submerged in saltwater for a while; heavy rust and oxidation. It had been severely unloved...a full strip, some sweet ebay deals, and a LOT of elbow grease and polishing put it right.
The cranks were a great score; ($20) some knucklehead tried to remove the gold ano with a dremel and a grinding stone(!)...it took a long time to polish out the gouges, but the finished set looks beautiful (the pic doesn't do the justice).
Fyi: if you're ever tempted to polish a sprocket with a bench mounted buffer make sure you wear full-face protection (knowledge aquired by painful personal experience)
