Ultimate Time Trial Bikes

It's that time of the year when TDF teams unveil cutting edge machines, such as this break through design for minimal frontal resistance, always a key in the time trial stages:

In TDF, as in all speed sports. there's a great deal of copy cat design, but as always the devils in the execution and some teams show their financial limitations:

Then there are the Mavrics, true visionaries willing to push the edge of material and the human body:

But the day would go without notice were we not reminded of the great truth of cycling, it's not about its competition,it's about its joy.

How does one get a full breath riding either of the first two bikes?

I'm reminded of the French designer and rider who set a bunch of records on a recumbent in the late 30's, I was told that prompted the rule on maximum wheelbase and bottom bracket height.

The joke itself violates the custom that April Fool's jokes have to be played before noon. In such cases, the instigator becomes the "fool".

I don't think that's minimal frontal resistance, but I'm not complaining, either.

Once again, T-Mar enlightens us unworthy ones. I had no idea there was a "noon" rule. 😁

E-bike technology is also advancing, though this model requires a direct feed from the Bonneville Dam Power House for recharge, but as always e-tech is only for assistance. This next generation model cloaks a 72 Paramount frame/fork with all Campagnolo gruppo hidden under its holographic interface.

And as demonstrated in the picture, the faster you pedal the faster the assist.

Please note posts were on 4/1, though acknowledgment of the fools day they celebrate wasn't until 4/2. And as to rules, HAH, it's the TDF, what rules??? e.g. NASCAR-if you ain't cheating you ain't trying.
