No pics, not a thread steal, I just promised above to be nice.

edit: Nice Raleigh gugie. I’m still basking in the glow of the Ride/Wrench WE.
It was great fun to have you, Andy, and Jeff to The Atelier for the pre-party. I'm already thinking of 2019

Bikes: 2009 Handsome Devil, 1987 Trek 520 Cirrus, 1978 Motobecane Grand Touring, 1987 Nishiki Cresta GT, 1989 Specialized Allez Former bikes; 1986 Miyata Trail Runner, 1979 Miyata 912, 2011 VO Rando, 1999 Cannondale R800, 1986 Schwinn Passage

Nice score, that Cooper color is cool. Someday I am going to have to see what all the 531 love is about, someday when I have fewer than 5 bike projects in the queue....

I haven't even met him, but it was because of his sharp eye and mind that made my trade possible. I put out a plea which was a long shot. I wanted a 56cm Lemond (or similar) Ti frame in exchange for my 53cm Lemond Ti. He was our matchmaker, mine and Anti_antipas. We've done the trade, and it worked out well.

I have a 1974 International, too, thanks to all the praise it gets here. And it lives up to my expectations and more. It's a great frame and platform for many kinds of builds. I painted it carelessly so I could build it and try it. My first build was from a mishmosh of stuff I had on hand. Then I redid it with all the stuff I want plus a 3x10 brifter drivetrain. If I had to own one bike, there are few that would be suited to the job, and this is one. I could live on this bike and almost sleep on it. It's not perfect. Tight maneuvers at high speed are not a strength, but that's the worst I could say about it.

I think they might have been able to go a bit shorter on that rear brake cable. I've got my International routed the same way.

A thousand pictures of a thousand bikes of a thousand colors on a thousand garage doors.

One of them is gonna be right.

I mounted my rear side-pull brake in front of the brake bridge for a nicer path for the brake cable. The cable guides are on the right, but modern brakes expect cables to be on the left.

Bikes: are fun!

Can’t wait to see this brought back to stock!

I’ve found that rear cable routing to be a nice touch if you happen upon one of these with cantis...
