Versailles model Peugeot

Anyone know when they started using this model name? I have an older bike with decals with this name but the bike seems older than when I've read they started using this name.

It's a cycle shop sticker. If you use Google maps and input "12 Rue Carnot Versailles" (which is on your decal), you'll find photos of a current Peugeot Cycles dealership, main building at 14 Rue Carnot, and a building across the side street at 12 Rue Carnot, called Revert Pro, with lots of motor scooters in front of it. Apparently, a prior cycle dealer named Trottam/Prottam? was there when your bike was sold.

Starting out in Lyon, he (Julius Caesar) worked his way up across the Berry, Burgundy and Champagne regions until he reached what is today Belgium. The two typically French emblems, “fleur de lys” and the rooster, are both thought to be handed down from Gaelic times.
Fleur de Lys coat of arms, emblem used in the past by French nobility

You're welcome.

The guy that waxed your bike before it left the shop in 1959, was named Henri. He had 2 pet hamsters, Luigi and Rene, who were always chewing wires off the bottle generators, and alas Henri got fired in 1960, then moved to the United States, eventually finding his way west in 1962 searching for the beaches he'd heard about in California when he'd heard the Beach Boys singing Surfin' Safari. Henri now lives in San Clemente, probably somewhere near you. The hamsters died many years ago, and Henri is too busy staying stoned to care.

That conclusion makes so much sense. It's just that lower decal looks so much part of the original design with the gold pin stripes and all.

I thought the model number suggested by @jj1091 (PLC-50, in the other thread) is an excellent candidate. The only difference is that the bands on the seat tube are double in the 1959 catalog but are solid on yours. Perhaps there had been variation during the year or perhaps yours might be a 1960 (there's a coverage gap when it comes to Peugeot catalogs for 1960).
The person who acquired this one also believes it's a PLC-50:

As for the non-Peugeot decals on your frame, the Versailles one is the coat of arms for the city of Versailles:

As it overlaps the top red band and pinstriping, and is somewhat too close to the Peugeot decal, I'd say that was most likely not applied at the factory.
The bike shop sticker is that of Cycles P. Rolland, which started out in 1946 and on April 1, 2003 changed name to Cycles Jacqot that's still at 12-14 Rue Carnot. It looks like they only deal in scooters now.

I suppose they were a Peugeot dealer, although there were other frames apparently sold under the shop name.

Amazing @jj1091, you gleaned all that just from the picture? You are indeed the 'bike whisperer'!
But, to answer your reply, sure, it happened.....
