i do have another Fuji Gran Touring frameset that is the exact same geometery. The problem with it is it must have passed through "quality control" by mistake. The front downtube lug has a space in it between the frametube and the lug like it isnt fully brazed. I am sure this is common on lowend frames. I dont know how safe it is which is why i never finished it.
If the rest of the lug was properly brazed, it should last as long as anything else.

Update....
Forum member @greg3rd48 was nice enough to help out with the frameset pictured above.
He had messaged me about it for sale out in the Bronx. I was able to contact the buyer, coordinate the price and he was able to pick up the frame, strip it and ship it to me in the midwest. I almost couldn't believe it when the box showed up at my door. My old one i believe was a 1978 based on the catalog pic but the serial shows 1977. This one is a 1976. Same everything but the rear drop outs. The ones on my old frame were Suntour and these are Ishwata.....but they are the same exact shape and size. The front forks are Suntour.
It's been a very busy last few weeks but i got to clean up the frameset, tear down my old and build up the new one. I am just working out the very minor adjustments on it now. Sadly it is down in the teens and 20s here so i dont know when i will be able to take it out on its proper maiden voyage but i must say this was an amazing act of awesomeness by a member on this forum for someone in need.
The old frame snapped on me on 10/10/2018 and in exactly 1 month you wouldn't even know it except for the frameset is one shade of lighter blue this time around. Lets hope it holds up as long or longer than my last one. I cant wait to get this thing out for a spin.
Thank you very much!
I will post pictures when i get time. I know that is the most important part

Excellent work, both of you!! Kudos!
as an aside, there was another Fuji Sports 10 in NY, although in a rather plain white/ivory.

At these prices, you could keep a couple of spares handy.

I know it seems like a bottom of the barrel low end bike boom frame but i tell you what.....they ride fantasitc. After all the framsets i have been through over the years i kept coming back to it over and over again. They are very enjoyable bikes to ride. according to me

Glad it worked out! I had a '83 Fuji Supreme that I picked up (the frameset) for a whopping $15. It was a great rider and I ended up building it up for my brother who really enjoys it. Old Fujis are nice bikes.

That was precisely the failure mode of my 1971 Nishiki Competition, after 20 years and almost 40K miles, including a fair number of hills. (Not much sprinting -- I am a slow-twitch / endurance sort, not a power lifter or sprinter of any sort.)
