Basement upgrade
Recently built out the basement. Framing, electrical, drywall, paint, floor, trim. I left the ceiling raw joists and primed them with a sprayer along with the raw drywall. My recommendation, don't do it, pay a guy. The trim caused the need for an L4/L5 fusion. Again, don't do it, pay a guy.
1/3 of the basement is unfinished, has the furnace, water heater, storage, etc. 1/3 is a woodshop. The final 1/3 is the bike lounge. Bike part storage under the stairs.

Just a shopvac attached to the tool when in use. Manual, but works surprisingly well. And any dust is confined to the room. Before, it would cover the entire basement before I put up the walls.

Iab,
Nicely done, I left the framing in my studio raw......Good taste in bikes, IMHO great (better) taste in chairs
Bertoia, Eames, Rietveld....I also appreciate Aalto, Saarinen et al.
A true bicycle lounge for someone that might be OCD....keep the dust down and off of those chairs!
Best, Ben

Upper left of the framed newspapers picture is a Guerin Sportivo from just prior to the 1939 Giro d'Italia. In it, a number a caractatures were drawn. Below, the first has the race contenders, Bartali, Vicini and Valetti. The second has their lieutenants, Bini, Cinelli, Bizzi and Servadei. I use the Cino Cinelli as the avatar.

I also asked iab anent his avatar. This was a couple years back; he kindly explained it to me. To show how "astute"(!) I am had thought it might be Hoagy Carmichael.

This project simply knocks me socks off. When I think of all the differing disciplines involved must face that I could na'er get beyond square one before becoming hopelessly confused & flummoxed.
Greatest respect to iab!

Bikes: Indeed!
Nice room!
I like your choice to leave the joists visible. I find the rhythmic repetition of the joists and the stair steps visually pleasing.
I don't know which I envy more; the bikes or the furniture.
I hope the back recovery is going well.

So N+?
I also had to cut back on chair collecting and I am in the process of limiting my bike purchases...too many in the queue.
