Picked up this Saronni Tipo Sprint today. She has Campagnolo Gran Sport RD,FD and crankset. Campagnolo hubs,GS brakes ,Zeus headset and gold Milremo stem and bars.Initial research says some Saronnis were Colnago made but i don,t know if this bike is.Does not matter,it will be a fun project.

Italian, French and Spanish! Let's call it the romance bike. Very nice.

Bikes: A bunch of old bikes and a few new ones

I like bikes like this that come with a bunch of neat parts and has seen some use. The parts make it easy to rebuild and you don't mind riding it because it's not a garage queen.

Bikes: Colnago (82, 85, 89, 90, 91, 96, 03), 85 Cinelli, 90 Rossin, 83 Alan, 82 Bianchi, 78 Fountain, 2 x Pinarello, Malvern Star (37), Hillman (70's), 80's Beretto Lo-Pro Track, 80's Kenevans Lo-Pro, Columbus Max (95), DeGrandi (80's) Track.

Yes, it is built by Colnago to recognise Saronni's Giro d' Italia/World championship wins and his connection to Colnago bicycles. Fantastic to see the Campagnolo Gran Sport components as well as the Zeus and Milremo stuff too. To be honest, the Saronni frames are not really the peak of Colnago built and finished frames and the components are second tier stuff but they all fit perfectly together. I suppose I am a bit of a Colnago tragic but I would love to own your bike. Just the 'romance' behind the connection of Ernesto Colnago and Beppe Saronni. To me it's perfect in nearly every way. I'd probably change the saddle to an old Concor (Confort model if found) like Beppe Saronni used. You could also get a 'Saronni' branded saddle. I'd be proud to ride it just as it is.

Just on the Campy Gran Sport components: 'Everyone' has Campy Super/Nuovo Record stuff on their bikes - with very good reason - but it is far less common to find Campy Gran Sport. That is a great reason to feature it on a bike just like this.
