Low angle light may help make a photo more dramatic but it's also a scary time to be out riding a bike into it.
Luckily, the Middle Fork Road is a dead end road that ultimately ends in a designated wilderness area that sees little traffic on weekday afternoons...

This is one of the reasons I keep going back to Tuscany every year: those roads that flow with the hills, from town to town, flanked by cypress trees. The hazy sunlight and the gravel dust complete the picture.
Taken during Eroica Montalcino, so technically the road is not empty (look closely and see at least one couple of riders):
