Need assistance identifying a Masi
Hello,
I bought a bright red vintage Masi bicycle a few years back. It has Masi engraved on seat stays, rear caliper post, fork, but the bottom bracket has a round hole instead of an "M".
Previous owner said he pieced it together with Campy everything and all the decals are long gone. It has a 3 digit number above the hole and below the yellow triangle.
Below the hole is "54", which corresponds to the size. I've visited some of the Masi sites and read the stories about Italy and USA made, but still cant figure out what I have.
Bike has one chrome chainstay and chrome fork.
Can someone help me identify this bicycle?
I cant seem to upload photos because I dont have enough posts on this forum.
Thank you.

Kinda looks like an Alberto Masi (post-Faliero's arrival in the US). Check Bob Hovey's site. You should be able to narrow the model and year down reasonably easily.

Jim Allen of the Cyclesmiths in Ranchita Ca can fully tell you I would bet.
Italian Made.
Nothing to do with Alberto and the Vigorelli I am reasonably sure.
Masi USA was stated to use two Italian frame manufacturers for the lower tier models
Built for Masi USA as a subordinate model.
which model? By Whom?
there is the ask Jim part.
He might have transfers that you could purchase and he could apply.
there was a small run that were not accepted- this does not look like that group.
