And maybe they are a brand new outfit and won't last very long. I'm just pointing out the wrong way untorquing problem can be created by anyone, even me, lol! On the positive side, it only took me 20 minutes of working on it to think, wait a minute, let's check against the original parts. But a year later, I did it again!!

Wouldn't have any issue putting heat to the cup, I would heat the cup up to the point that solidified grease melts and wick some new grease into the threads. Then try the wrenching. The grease melts well before paint damage. I had to do this on a bike that broke the pin wrench.
