Well, got the Cannondale weighed in today... Not quite as good as I had hoped, at least with the mtb tire wheelset. It actually got heavier somehow, with the XT/LX drivetrain. Maybe it's just the street wheels were already lighter to start with? They're the same rims basically(Matrix single track), but The mtb wheels have LX hubs, and the street wheels have Parallax hubs. Soooo, drum roll pleeeez....

With mtb tire wheelset (Tioga Psycho matched front/rear set) 26 pounds, 6 ounces..

With street tire wheelset (Panaracer Pasela Tourguard 1.5") 25 pounds, 1 ounce.

I am tempted to just buy a set of Panaracer Fire XC Pro's, and see how much lighter they are than the Tiogas. I have a set already, but they're on the Hard Rock rims on the Haro Escape. Those Fire XC's fit unbelievably TIGHT on those rims, and I'd rather not go through the trouble for a test weigh... I'm sure I could get it under 25 on the street tire set, if I took the toe clips off. I like them too much though. One of the only sets I own, that I can just slip my shoes in and out with ease.,,,,BD

Thanks for sharing the Marin Team FRS. Brings back memories from a yuppie making a mobile phonecall on his Team FRS, back in 1995. I were a fortunate cyclist too with my Koga SkyCarbolite, but I did push my bike to the limits. A Team FRS set you back 5.995 Dutch guilders in 1995.

Correction: I now spot it is the actual Manitou FS. That is an impressive piece with all its CNC work.

Really light, and well made, for a basic citybike. Nishiki really got this one right.

definitely mega cool.. that one looks like it's in pretty good shape too. Someday when i have more room than sense I'd love to add one of those to the fleet..

and i paid $95.. probably could have paid less but would have paid twice as much without hesitation

LOL.... Jamis Dakar .. pretty sure it's an 1989.. not sure if the "competition series" means it's a Jamis Dakar "Comp" or what. The guy said he originally planned on buying a Jamis Dakota but the sales person offered him the Dakar for the same price cause of the colors

I did. I need it like another hole in my head. Still want it though. The problem for me is that I already have two Fishers, two Ritchey's, a Univega, RD Coyote, Cannondale, and a Schwinn all of the same vintage ('82-'86), but none of them are lugged. I have a build in mind that doesn't fit what I have. Would rather trade for it. PM me and maybe we can revist our discussion over the XC stuff. Shipping will suck, but I will be in FT Worth next week and can maybe hook-up then.

I had one of those Diamondbacks and would love to have another one in decent condition (mine was a rust bucket and too far gone) . Need 20-21 inch though.

You know your are a vintage MTB crackhead\Junkie when you are sitting at home going through your finances and realize, your four year old's violin lesson is twice as expensive and he cries the whole way to lessons and back. If I can pay $2600 to torture my child why cant I have this frameset again???

Back off while I consider??

@ Frantik, I am happy you are down with purple and pink.

Seriously considering the below?

New Colnago MTB Frame & Fork - $1300 (Springfield, VA)

I am selling a new Colnago MTB Frame & Fork. It was made in 1993. It has never been built up before. I bought this for a bike project but I realized that I could not afford all the Campagnolo components for it and I did not want to use Shimano parts. The frame is 50cm from bottom bracket to bottom of seat tube. The tob tube is 58cm and the downtube is 61cm. The steerer tube is 1-1/8" threaded. I am asking for $1,300/OBO. I will ship it for an extra $70. No lowballers or scammers. Serious inquiries only. Thanks for looking.

I'd rather live in a Gingerbread House than a glass one.

@ Amjesa, You will have to explain it so that my 4 year old understands, cause I sure as hell don't.

I U D to you too= "I think you are a dummy"

Initially I thought he meant IUD, as in I shouldn't have kids. I can't he imagine he'd be that rude and indifferent without knowing me.

Those are some heavy looking welds.. they don't really do it for me but I guess maybe they have to look like that because of the shape of the tubing?

I don't know much about 90s colnago mtbs, is that aluminum or titanium?

+1 to fat aluminum welds.
The seller inlcuded very little information other than size and cost. The the more I look at it, the more I think no way.
