Mid 90's Cannondale - $100 (greenbrae)

http://www.craigslist.org/nby/bik/126211642.html

pretty cool, if your into that vintage MTB, looks to me like an 80's Cannondale.

Mhendricks just shot me this eBay link, as the bike is in my neighborhood. Before I rush on over to empty my wallet..... ..... am I missing something here? This bike cannot possibly be worth $900 - can it?

Anyone help me with this?:

http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/bik/126870404.html

Price is nice for New York. Pics aren't very descriptive, but I'm wondering if someone who knows Windsors might share any insight. I'm thinking this is the original owner and the comps are originals. So I'm guessing given the one brief description of the Windsor Pro that I found on BF, this is a late-70s, early 80s model. Size is right for my roommate. ?

Thanks,

max

Definately cool and probably worth more than your average mixte but even half that price would seem high to me, the frame is the only truely valuable and unique part about the bike. This guy is dreaming, if someone buys that I'll be damn suprised.

I'm with you there - 531 steel and a triple on a mixte. You don't see that every day. I might be persuaded to dig deep and go $50 for it, but $900 - YEOW!

lotek 01-20-06 09:47 AM

Its overpriced by 500 bucks (and that selling to a hardcore Jacktaylor collector).
The only mixtes that could possibly command that kind of starting bid
are Alex Singer or Rene Herse.
nice bike, won't get any bids though.

Heheh -- I'm thinking the guy told his wife he paid $900 for it and doesn't want her to find out he blew half of that on Internet poker.

This is a really nice bike, I had the opportunity to buy it before it went on CL here in Vancouver.... However it is too small for me. When will I find my 531 frame?!?!

- Mavic / Campy wheelset - 30mins left!

wow - talk about a case of last minute bidding. $20 to $102 in less than 30minutes.

It's not tig welded. It's fillet brazing. Take a look at this...

CR Jack Taylor

and this...

CR Jack Taylor 2

lotek 01-24-06 02:26 PM

Those Jack Taylors are fillet brazed and not Tig welded.

As for the other question, I don't see any reason why 531 couldn't
be tig welded other than possible heat issues.

Marty

infinityeye 01-24-06 03:13 PM

right "heat issues" that's what the reynolds site said, but then who listens to them anyway!

M-theory 01-25-06 04:04 AM

Ha!-- Somebody should capitalize on this: "Shimano Groce De Aune" crankset with derailleurs! going for $40 so far and only a few hours left.....!

Oh and this is very nice...An early unknown vintage track frame, semi-restored. Anybody have any idea who made it?

That is weird. Clearly says Bergmeister (uh, mountain master. A very hopeful name...) on the downtube...I like the schwinn seat, though.

eBay # 7214838066

1961 FREJUS SUPER CORSA

Check it out!

lotek 01-26-06 04:01 PM

even with the repaint that one is gonna go sky high (IMHO).
absolutely gorgeous, good patina (brake levers), good photos
and excellent listing (layout pics etc.) this should be an example
for everyone who ever wants to sell a bike on ebay or craigslist
Marty

TheOtherGuy 01-26-06 05:45 PM

Marty, that bike has your name on it... ;)
