My second Holdsworth

I bought another Holdsworth yesterday! I will attach some pics below. Sorry about the quality of the shots. My LBS freind called me as soon as it came in. He sold it to me for a previous client that had passed on. I told him I would cherish it. Excellent price. Below $300.00!
Full Campy except the rear de'. It is Shimano SIS 600.
It has an unusual headbadge of a skull with a lightning bolt through the enlarged cranium. Matching blue and red like the holdsworth decal below it. This is a metal badge though, rather than a decal like the Holdsworth decal.
It also has two Campagnolo decals on it. One on the downtube and one on the left chainstay.
This one fits me perfectly. 59 CM. Part of why I bought it as I had previously told my wife I would not buy any more bikes for awhile
Rides like a dream.
The frame is silver and you can discern that it is fully chromed under the paint. Just got it back together today after lube, grease and polishing. What a ride! I am going to do my first century on this bike next week.
Thanks!
David.

Not that unusual if you're a DeadHead...and Holdsworthy was the UK importer of Campagnolo, so they probably got a lot of campy decals in the deal. Great looking bike, enjoy it! Is it just the angle of the reflection, or does the seatpost have a dark annodized finish?

So ?I am showing my ignorance here... That skull is a Campy badge?

No on the annodized. Just bad camera angle.

Thank you,

David.

Very nice find, David, particularly since it "fits you perfectly."

No, sorry, 2 separate thoughts: the Dead Head sticker or badge is not Campy, it's been put on the bike by a fan of the Grateful Dead. The fact that it has 2 Campy decals is due (I speculate here) to the fact of Holdsworthy being a big customer/sole importer of Campagnolo products.

Ok. Do I feel silly....
I have never been a fan... Did not know that was their thing at all!

Too yoke'll for my acid rock tastes as a teen...

Thanks as always,

Interesting component mix - Triomphe s-post, C-Record (Or are they?) brake levers, NR d-t levers and FD, and what I can only assume is a 50th Anniversary crankset with replacement rings? Can't make out the brake calipers.

The Brakes themselves have "Royal Grande Compe" and "500" on them.

The Brake levers have "GC".

The cranks have "Super Competizione" on them..

What does that tell you please?

Thanks,

Tells me that the brakeset are not Campagnolo

Royal Grand Compe is Dia-Compe, same for the GC (Grand Compe) levers. As for the cranks, "Super Competizione" is not Campagnolo, but I couldn't tell you what it is. Maybe SR?

No, I think Ofmega...at least I had one so called that looked like this one. At least it's a 144bcd Campy-copy. And even though it's got Japanese brakes, I think the RGCompes are some of the best. Looks like somebody "downsized" the all-Campy gruppo it might have come with, still...just ride it and upgrade when you wear this stuff out if you feel the need.

Much appreciated. Since I don't know the values and quality of these various components until I learn as much from you guys none of this affects me.

I totally agree with your "just ride it" approach too. Took it out for a 15 mile ride last night and it is so smooth on these stupid slab concrete Michigan roads (bump bump---bump bump).... Great brakes by the way...

You guys are a great asset to a beginner and without gushing about it I hope you know how much new folks like me appreciate your time!
