Moronic numbskull (jerk, loser, etc.) of the day...an $800 bicycle advertised on NJ CL without photos, no mention of model or frame size, and shows a total lack of knowledge of his offering.
"fuji bike w/all equipment for touring - $800
fuji touring bike tire 1.25, has suspention handlebars, best breaking
system, removable wheel for easy storage, back rack w/storage bag,
bottle holder, miles counter, night light, gloves, wide comfortable
seat, 12-15 speed, and much more."

A redline BMX for $100...filthy, missing the saddle, missing the rear tire, obviously rusty, and a 1 piece crank...
Usually I'm not one to knock BMX bikes. They're bulletproof and darn fun, but seriously? I think I'd buy it for $30-50...MAYBE.

This guy is selling a 82 Trek 720 on ebay. He doesn't seem to have a clue what it is. He claims that it is a 1989 with mild steel frame material, and post a serial number for model. Even the size is wrong.

The white headlugs, chromed ends (it's either both or neither on a '79), and decals (pre-'76) didn't sit right with me with this frameset (for the record, the braze-ons were supposedly available on the P-mount by '78), so I inquired to the seller about it. His response:
He was looking for the rarest of items? Who cares?
Is that to say that by virtue of the fact that he looked for the rarest items, this frameset should be something I should seriously consider? Give me a break - the tastes of your unfortunately deceased friend is not a substitute for basic facts.
For that matter, I see nothing rare in a run-of-the-mill Schwinn Paramount frameset.

Kurt: The frame & fork belonged to my best friend. After he passed away I have been selling off his bike collection for the benefit of his family. My friend was an avid Schwinn collector and had a stock of decals and other spare parts that filled agarage. I cannot say whether or not the frame was repainted or if the decals were replaced. He always was searching for the rarest of items.

The Discontinued Daisy returns, this time with a lay-a-way plan. I've been guilty of hyperbole in the past, but I don't think I've ever shoehorned the words rare, antique, vintage, collectors’ item, and discontinued into the same sentence...

And just for reference, the ad text; for I flagged it (and hope others will too):
Used Tandem Daisy-Daisy Bicycle in mint condition.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Used Tandem Daisy-Daisy Bicycle in mint condition.
$750.00 CASH ONLY.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
This Tandem Daisy-Daisy Bicycle is a rare antique vintage American made collectors’ item, as it is a discontinued item, (possibly from the late 50’s or early 60’s), but in very good condition, despite its use and years. Front fender is missing, but other than that, everything else is intact in mint condition.
(phone)
IMPORTANT NOTE: We know you are interested in this item, and we perfectly understand the present nation's financial crisis and economic recession.
We cannot offer you financing, BUT, in an effort to alleviate the monetary burden, we can offer you the alternative of accepting your reasonable partial CASH payments, depending on our mutual written terms of agreement, and we will not charge you for storage in our facilities for the next 30 days after signed agreement, as long as you do not violate the contract, and you make the final partial cash payments as mutually agreed in our terms, so that you may finally take the item with you as soon as you pay us in full. No interest, no credit checks, no gimmicks, no games, just an honest financial relief solution from us. We only require certain verifiable ID. This 30 day option is only applicable for those responsible individuals who really want the item, and definitely know that they will finalize their complete payments within one month of the initial sale.
It is in our mutual interest to help each one of us out. We want to sell you the item, and you want to buy it from us as well. It is as simple as that!!!

Last year an old guy gave us one of those. It was in perfect condition. Same colour, even. We sold it for $150, which seems a much more reasonable price for a Huffy tandem.....
