I was kinda thinking there might be more old-school parts there. I imagine there probably are back in the dark corners.

I'm still looking for a decent C&V oriented shop a little closer to home.
never thought to ask about used parts...

I found a set of Cinelli Criterium bars (new logo) for $10. in the back of my LBS.
he had sets of 1a stem with various bars (new and Old logo) which he offered
me for $20 - $30 each.

lots of take off parts get tossed in the back of the shop which they
are more than happy to get rid of.

I'd pay $20 for a 110 or longer old logo stem in a heartbeat.

they had at least 100 different sized (and model) bars hanging on the wall.
and a large number of stems.

Cyclotoine, I'll look for stems 120mm? I didn't see any steel with badge
(you know the really expensive ones) but I should be back there within a week or so.

This is the also the shop that sold me the Clement Paris Roubaix tubulars for less
than $100 (and don't I wish they had more).

Yeah a 120mm alloy old logo 1A stem would be awesome. I'd also like to get my hand on a set of old logo bars in 42cm or wider but I think 42 may be the widest if they even went that wide back then. These parts of course are for Corky.

I believe 66s were the only model that came in 42cm in the old logo days. I already have a set of 42cm bars for corky but not old logo, so if I could get old logo 42cm bars for a decent price I would jump at the chance.

Good catch today

I found a Humber Sports today, the hub is a 72, my first Brooks saddle! I don't think the bike has 100 miles on it, the tires are Raleigh, I assume original, and the front still has some flashing down the center of the tire. It has a nice coating of grease/dust but I think it will polish up like new. Looks like another cool bike for my daughter's vintage lady bike collection.

I just picked up a Giant RS 940 from a local thrift store. it was more than I have ever spent on a bike at a thrift store, but still a catch by far. 4130 tri-butted frame. It's all Shimano, but probably the smoothest shifting bike I have ridden. I've always shied away from anything with downtube shifters for myself because I thought it was too far to reach. These are actually very nice and they are also indexed. Shimano SLR brakes. the toe clips are too small for my feet, but I have a pair that will work. it's also got 700c ARAYA wheels with joytech hubs, front and rear QR's and BIOPACE chainrings. I put air in the tires and took it around the block and was amazed. I really think I'm going to like this bike, and I'm already falling for the paint

So what can anyone tell me about a Soma Cosmopolitan? I just bought one off Craiglist for $35.00.
https://cleveland.craigslist.org/bik/249486121.html

I have asked the seller for details, but not sure what he will write back with. No phone so I can't have a conversation with him about the bike.
Thanks

Looks like a reasonable bike for what you paid. I don't know the specific bike, but it looks like typical bike boom type of bike.

Don't expect much useful info from the seller, since those aren't V brakes... they look like side pull calipers.

Here's a pic of that Japanese Onyx I picked up a few weeks ago. It is a low-end bike, but is in almost new condition. This was a case of answering a vague CL ad with an "I'll take it!!", in order to get my hands on the bike. Unfortunately, it was not what I thought - but I'm a man of some honor and maybe just a smidge of character, so I forked over the money as promised and kept my word. It was only $30, anyway.

Neighbor is moving out of state and came over and asked my wife if we were interested in any of the household items (glasses, lamps etc) that they were going to be throwing away. She went over to take a look and mentioned that I was at the Bike Co-Op on the Saturday group ride and how much I have been getting into cycling.

Oh they have an old tandem up in the attic, would I want it. Humm, let me think for a fractional nano-second. Yes.

Ran out of time today but I am going over Sunday morning. No idea of the brand, but they said it needs a lot of work. Not sure what that means (might just be tires, lube and cables) but I will find out.

I just got a pair of Sidi Genius 3 shoes today. I recently saw them posted in a 'For Sale' section of a Phoenix bike club website. They were posted in August. I sent an email about them and found that the guy still had them. He claimed they were only used twice. I got them for 50 bucks and they do indeed look as if they've only been used twice. Excellent condition and the cleats also look new. I wear 14s and have had a heck of a time finding good shoes at a decent price. I'll finally get to use the old red/white Look pedals I've had on in my spare parts box.

Hehehehe..... I think it weighs about 5lbs, all by itself!!

The fenders are cool looking (if a bit useless), and the front wingnuts are pretty neato, as well. BTW, this bike did not last very long on CL - it got snapped up PDQ after I posted it this morning.

Here are a couple of links to some of my catches of the day that I picked up and now are selling on Craigslist. The Univega is probably the nicest of the 2 both both bikes cleaned up well and are excellent shape. I'm sure I'll get comments on the prices I'm charging!

Ive got that same spoke protector on my le tour. Like dork discs so long as they're metal, they make the bike look kinda neat&fast somehow! I also got a front rim laying around with wing nuts like that

That's similar to a Steyr Clubman I have. Weighs 1 million pounds and gots all kinds of charm.
