Mavic 7 speed freewheel English or Italian thread (don't even know if this exists) If you're looking to use 821 shifters with an 840 rear, any evenly spaced freewheel should work. With the little cable routing thingy in the up position, its cable pull is identical to modern Shimano derailleurs (any SIS derailleur, except the pre-97 Dura Ace's). The Shimano 7 speed freewheels (including Dura Ace) work great, if you can find them. If you want the Mavic tech notes on the 821 + 840, let me know and I'll scan them. |
Thanks for the info. I had guessed that this was the situation from the research that I had done but it's good to have it settled.
I do have the shifters and plan to use them with the 840 and a Regina America 1992 freewheel. Why did they make the 501 freewheel hub without a freewheel to match? And if you would scan the tech sheets that would be awesome. I'm trying to consume as much information as possible. I would like to be as helpful as others have been to me. |
I'm searching for a set of braze-on Simplex Retrofriction shifters in good working condition.
Thanks, John |

Dust cap search produces several results, but without descriptions or pictures. Campy website catalogs only go to 94, and I couldn't find high flange track hubs in them. campyonly has older catalogs, they have this in them, and the dust cap is 740 and there is no match for that anywhere. |

cudak,
From my understanding, most of the Cinelli stems prior to the mid-nineties were 26.4. I have the Touch handlebars and a vitage 101 stem. I originally wanted black bars to go with the stem but could not find bars that were made before they made the conversion to 26.0 If you are looking for a 1a with the logo on top, do a search for Cinelli and "oval". I saw two or three listings for what looked like 1a's with the logo on top. |
Looking for:
6-3/4" to 7" rear shock with lockout for my Trek Y3. Perhaps one of you C&V fellows just might have one...? -Kurt |

Going to be running 1 1/8" tires on them, so something with a 19-22mm width would be great. If you know the ERD and it's close to 622-620 all the better! At least you got some practice in. |
My local bike kitchen really needs grip tape, and rubber/gel grips too.
Please let me know if you have any, it would really help. Thank you. |
