Thank you! ..... but if it were 5" smaller, someone else would own it.....

I actually wasted $700.00 buying a smaller (24") '72 Paramount that had the 49/46/3? triple with lots of goodies....the white one I sold on the 'bay a month or so ago....thought I would be able to ride the smaller frame.......mostly out of frustration in not being able to find the 26" model I had for so long coveted.....it still had the Valley Cyclery stickers on it from Van Nuys, Ca....very cool bike, but I couldn't ride it.....I'm pretty sure the new owner is a happy camper, though....

Bikes: 71 Chrome Paramount P13-9, 73 Opaque Blue Paramount P15, 74 Blue Mink Raleigh Pro, 91 Waterford Paramount, Holland Titanium x2

One of my Paramounts is a 25", though I am not as tall as you it is the most comfortable as I can not bend too far over due to a back issue. My wife rides a small one! My others are 24" and are not uncomfortable, but the 25 is best.

Love the blue/chrome combo....that is one sweet Paramount!

I wish I could convince my wife to get a "road bike"....she likes her "comfort" bike....

I would get her a vintage Paramount in a heartbeat! ...(if she'd just let me)

Barndoor: I'm revamping a 72 continental in red. Can't wait to get it back from powdercoat. What color cables are you running on yours? I'm putting a Honey colored Brooks and tan bar tape on mine and probably red cables but I may go with black cables I haven't decided for sure.

My wife was riding a cobbled together Super Course with a mix of European and Japanese parts, so going to a P-15 wasn't that much of a stretch. I did change the bars to touring bars and will soon be adding thumb shifters to replace the stem shifters. Nothing that can't be put back to original, of course. I did have to make it so she would ride it. She tried drop bars and decided she wasn't comfortable riding that way.

In case no one mentioned anything about it, that paramount is GOR. JEE. OSE. That about sums up what I like about vintage bikes, man. And in a size I can really stretch out on. Wowza.

Oh, wait, it's not mine to stretch out on. RATS.

OOOOHHHHH I like it. As much as I love red that campus green on an old Schwinn lightweight really pops my cork.

My girlfriend made me nervous when she said she thought she might want straight bars and bar ends for touring because she saw it on so many bikes on the websites she was looking at as we got ready for our big trip to europe. I put a hi-rise stem on it so the top of the bars are about an inch above saddle height. She absolutely loves the new set-up and of course she loves her suntour ratcheting barcons.

+1. Sigh.

I'm sitting on a one owner Campy 60cm Paramount 1984 Road. Its too small. It will move out next month, hopefully leaving the kitty a little fuller towards a touring geometry MTNB (Much Too Nice Bike).

The freewheel looks sharp. Does it give you better gearing?

I'll let you know....

I hesitate to take it out on a "real' ride with those tubulars on it.....as soon as I can get around to getting some of those cool Sun CR-18 clincher rims you have on your Paramount.....
