I and my BIL just put a pair of Veloce 10-speed Ergos to go Shimergo on his RX100-equipped Centurion/Diamondback Expert TG. The rear shifting works a treat! The front... well it seems as though the shifter is a triple (5 clicks up and 2 down), though I thought I had ordered the shifter for a double. Because there are so many clicks, it does work and there's always somewhere to put the FD, it just isn't really nicely indexed like I'd want it to be. This is the 2nd Shimergo setup I've done and I'm not as happy as with my 3x9 Athena cross bike.
This meant you could use them on a double or triple interchangeably. |

Gomango has been tweaking me for so long with his Kvale pix that I finally had to join the club. This is an early-ish one, '78 build, less than 2yrs after Chris started building. It arrived just a couple of days too late to take to the CR weekend, so I built it up after I got back. 10spd Dura-Ace ST7800 STI brifters, which is why it debuts in this thread.

As nice as a Kvale looks, I love the all day ride benefit. Nothing like an older steel frameset to give a comfy ride. FWIW This is the exact color scheme I had on one of my Kvales until last fall. A forum member from PL talked me out of that particular Kvale, as I had one more than my fair share. I hope you thoroughly enjoy your new Kvale. edit: Just noticed you could get 700x30s between those stays. I'm jealous. |

Looks sort of like an FSA Omega Exo? The chainring has FSA on it so its some model from them.
http://auctionsound.s3.amazonaws.com...amp;height=337 Edit: Really nice bike @pcb! |
Beautiful bike pcb, just fabulous workmanship and design! And a fine set of components: That Stronglight headset is the cat's meow!

Recently got a great deal on a 105 10 speed groupset and have been frantically looking for something to put it on, even though I don't need another bike. My biggest issue is trying to find out what I want. With my current investment being so low, part of me wants to spend a decent amount and buy a nice steel frame, preferably vintage. I've also thrown around the idea of a steel cross bike, or even building up the nicest bike I can for the least money possible.
There are some really nice bikes in this thread convincing me that C&V is the way to go. Hoping to join this club soon! |
My old Paramount was great but too big to get a proper modern roadie fit on. Here's its replacement. So far I'm loving it. Rides like a dream.

FSA Gossamer cranks with Fyxation Mesa MP platform pedals. The Mesa MPs have nylon bodies, but with replaceable steel pins.

It's an FSA Gossamer, which is a little lighter than the Omega. Silver arms a little harder to find, usually find 'em in black. Both rings are FSA, the outer ring at least isn't original to the crank. I use a bunch o' Gossamers, mostly got them as 34/50s, then swapped the 50t to 48t, then swapped a bunch of the 48t to 46t. I ain't that fast, and I don't pedal much on the downhills.

Thanks! I haven't had time for much more than short commutes, hopefully get some real miles on 'er over the next couple of weeks.
These Strada Biancas are up around 32mm. Fit up front is fine. I've got about 4mm each side at the chainstays. The tightest spot in the rear is under the brake caliper, and it's the stupid coil spring protruding from the bottom of the arm. Maybe 2-3mm there, and a sidepull would probably take care of that. I do have to deflate the rear tire a little to get it out, though.

Congrats on the new Kvale @pcb. :thumb:
I don't believe I ever posted my Look KG 86 to this thread. The lighting and photography isn't great, but it's what I got: http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...psxj1srmoh.jpg http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...psxz1khdvu.jpg http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...pskrm5yi3n.jpg |

Just got done with this, need suggestions on tires to run. Skinwalls? Hrmmmmmmm.... For reference, these 28's do NOT fit without deflating first. They run into the seat tube before they can slot into the dropouts.

Drool... I'm planning to use Specialized Turbos on my pending brifter conversion project, they have a 24 or 26mm (can't recall exactly) version with a yellow sidewall, kind of faux-skinwall. A lot of my friends use those (our local shop is a specialized shop) and they all swear by them as comfortable, fast tires. |
