I kept the original parts around too just in case I feel like going back. I have 100% of the original parts for one (including original tires) and about 90% of parts for the other.

Would anyone here SRAM eTap a C&V steel frame?
I mean why not, right? |

The bike looks great, so all is forgiven :thumb:
What are those wheels? I like. Thank you! The wheels are 32 hole DT Swiss RR440s laced to White Industries T11 hubs, built by a fantastic local builder (Jack at Coates Bicycles). They're wearing Vittoria Corsa G+ 25mm tires. |

Now that's an 80's paint job!

A few updates to the '94 Litespeed Tachyon. Lizard Skins tape, Flite, Stan's Alpha 340 rim/Dura Ace hub wheelset, Vittoria Corsa clinchers. These rims are insanely light for alloy. This'll be my road/crit race bike next year.

in process shot- I am going with blue cables and classic black bar rap. don't love the wheels but they are what I have that work with the 11 speed athena. anyway, its a rider not a pin-up! I am pretty excited to get her on the road!

Finally completed my 1985 Trek 760 resto mod build. Full Ultegra 11sp 6800 group and wheels, custom Fizik Antares saddle, Soma HWY 1 and soma stem/ seat post, and a Chris King headset. I sourced the frame in the color you see here and had a friend add some small details to it. Then picked up accessories in celeste as I love the color and it went incredibly well with the frame and groupset colors. These are just cell pics, need to get it out for a real shoot. The ride is great, as would be expected from a 531 frame/fork. Not sure about the tires...they are already looking a bit rough after a short ride. This will not just be piece of wall art, it will indeed be ridden, though only in fair weather.
frame as delivered http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ps8cutu6xf.jpg And today http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...pstf1bwvcr.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...psr8wwdkjn.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...pslj98e2gc.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...psxfkckxvt.jpg |
Unique, and cool, and ride it until you drop, then pass it on.
Very nice. |
My favorite of all your builds. And there's a lot of mileage behind that, as you know.

frame as delivered Beautiful. That's some radavist-level work there. If that thing rides as well as it looks then it's a fantastic ride. |
Just an updated shot of my '87 Black Lightning. I took it on a fast 25 mile lunch ride today. The Criterium geometry plus the 11 speed Shimano groupset make for a speedy ride.

Wow! Some awesome stuff getting posted in here lately. This is my favorite thread.

Just convinced a good friend who wanted to get into road cycling to buy a local CL bike. A Dave Scott Triathlon, in red/white. He picked it up, shot some WD on it, then some 3 in 1 oil, and we went on a 25 mile ride. It needs a little love, but I think I have him hooked on old bikes. He's saving up for STI. A local has a 9 speed 105 Shifter set for cheap, he may buy and I can install for him. Need to figure out some way to drop the gear ratio for him a bit. If we go 9 speed, I may simply "hill jack" an 8 speed w/9 speed spacing, and go with a bigger ratio than stock for that bike. I have a new 12-28 I could cut up and go 14-28 8 speed on the 7 speed hub? Did some homework on this when I was going to do it on my Miyata, but ended up widening the frame and going 8 speed on new wheels. We will see where it goes.

if you want an easy hill jack just get a mtb cassette and RD- instant hill bike. I have 34t on the rear of my 9 speed dave scott!

liquefied I thought the same thing. They do detract from the overall appearance, especially the red. What is the best way of removing them?
