already tried more than once, and car free so no way to get to the co op in the nearest big city. I'd love to give them to someone, but g/f says they gotta go if I'm going to get in anything else.

You gotta think interior decoration: wall art, coat rack, flower vase, towel hanger, chandelier...

haha, I already have a set of steel drop bars with the brake levers with turkey wings rigged into a coat rack, as well as another old frame set hanging on the wall lined with rope lights!

I hear you man. If the coop's not too much of a hike, choose the best frame and strap it on your back and ride it out there. Sounds silly but I've done it both on engined and engine free two-wheelers. I used my belt.

More demand for a roadie so I'd take the Takara out there.

I do it with wheels all the time. Bungee cords and a messenger bag with a plastic bag in between to not get gunk on anything.

Ahh, sadly, the co-op is about 35 miles by interstate freeway, not exactly rideable. To take the back roads would be about 50 miles,and I just don't have the time to do a century to deliver a bike frame. I'll try and give CL one last try, and hope something works out.

I'm kind of intrigued by the Tak as a project. (Not sure exactly what kind of project.....but I dig its lines. Obviously I couldn't ride it myself, and it'd be better if it went to someone who could, but I'd hate to see the frame get tossed. ) Or alternatively, I could take it to the coop here, where decent frames don't go ten minutes before being claimed.

I'm a little tapped out on funds at the moment, but I do have access to shipping labels I can mail out (or just the account number.) So, I can offer that alternative to the dump. :eek:

Available are a pair of threaded forks circa early 1980's from a pair of Ross Professional Gran Tour bikes. 27" tires although they are actually slightly different lengths. 1" diameter steerer. One is 5 1/2", the other slightly over 7".

This frameset needs a good home, and it needs a respray ASAP. If you're interested in a project and a very nice base to begin, this might be it. 57.5 x 57. It's just too small to make a respray worth it for me. The saga can be found here. You can see how the oxalic acid did a decent job on the worst spot of rust, however, the rust is at work again.

I also did all the work of measuring and photographing the decals, and sending the info to JRRestore, so if you want decals for it, you'll be able to have him reproduce a set.

Preference is for local pickup. I really hate packaging and shipping frames. However, if you do a good enough job of begging, I might find it in my heart to ship.

I'll be happy to beg and plead. That would be perfect for a bunch of parts with out a home. And it will fit me perfectly.

I should have mentioned, there's also something funny about the forks. They appear aligned, but they are wider than 100mm, and when the front axle is completely seated in the dropouts, and the QR is engaged, the wheel sits decidedly skewed to one side. It's adjustable, of course, by moving the axle down a bit on one side, but I don't know how advisable that is. I do it on another bike I have though, with no ill effects thus far.
