I only ask because I just about outmuscled and stripped mine (in addition to banging the hell out of my knuckles) as it kept slipping out a couple weeks back.

I don't know the tool maker you're referring to but you can simply use a bolt or threaded rod to secure the remover tool like so:

BBT-2 has been claimed. FR-5 is still up for grabs.

Ah yes, that's what I was thinking of, thanks. I'm sure I could cut off a length of threaded rod (assuming I've got the right diameter/pitch) and make my own, but premade is nice to have. Of course, now I'm going to forget about it for the next 3-4 years until I bang the snot out of my knuckles trying to pull a BB next time.

I would gladly take the FR-5! I've been slowly trying to collect a good selection of cassette and freewheel tools as I can afford to, but I don't have an FR-5 yet.

zammykoo 10-26-17 09:19 AM

And the FR-5 goes to AustinFitz

I'm hoping to get my workspace tidied up in the next few weeks so I'll have more stuff to share here.

Claimed.

I have a set of Shimano bar end shifters, fair condition. Rear is 9 speed, front is non-matching but it's friction so no matter. These look like someone raced cross with them and spent most of the time falling down, and didn't clean up afterward. They are fairly banged up and are a testament to the build quality.

The rear clicks fine through the detents but the lever bolt is rusted. Also missing the D-ring that turns the friction/SIS ring, but that can be turned with needle-nosed pliers.

The front is missing a washer and the pod has a small crack. I don't think it will progress without further foul play.

Best use for these is probably to harvest the pods for mounting Silver bar ends or similar. The rear could be used as is for a 1 x 9 (or 1 x X, in friction mode) if you don't care about cosmetics.

Free for shipping; hopefully they are light enough to go First Class. Please PM if interested.

Thought I would ask here . DoesAnyone know why I would be unable to post a new thread in the forsale section? I can't find any certain standards you have to meet to post but It seems to just not let me post here.

CLAIMED Free for shipping: some well-worn Detto Pietro shoes with leather soles and TA cleats for one of you Strada Bianca types. I wear a street size 10.5 and these are tight, so I am guessing about a 9/9.5.

First is an Ultegra 52/36 11 speed crank 172.5

Second is a 105 52/36 11 speed crank 172.5

Both are new take-offs. Never ridden. They are also available locally - will keep them up here for a week and then off

Your welcome. Are you building a bike from scratch or just replacing parts?

Hi Gary,
A little bit of both...currently I am putting together a newer Bianchi frame to move more into the 21st century :p, bought it as a frame only so the joy of the hunt is fun along with the delayed gratification.
Thanks again, Ben

Let me know what you need. I may be able to find stuff in the parts bin.

Arbar Colombian rod brake setup, NOS, free for postage. Hopefully someone with rod brake interests will find something useful in this collection. (I know nothing about rod brakes, and have no idea if anything here will interoperate with other rod brake systems, or if this setup is even complete. Removed from the bag for photos.) Brake levers included.

Flickr is being uncooperative today. I've been so far unable to create an album with the relevant photos (only one is added). If you're interested, browse recent photos in my photostream:

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky
Three for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them
One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them,
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
Seems like yer missin quite a lot of rings there buddy

I think Jon has got the other 7 and the ring that rules them all. :innocent:

Andy_K 03-04-18 02:02 AM

I forgot there were people who liked BioPace rings. I've got a set (48-38-28 110, 74, I think) if anyone is bummed about missing out on these.

We have been discussing:rolleyes: this lately, any chance the drive side will come out?

Several months ago I picked up a U08 frame and fork off of the list of Craig.
It was a dark and stormy night... well, just the dark part.
it was listed for 20 bones, so I went to grab it.
Fast forward to a bit ago. I dug it out of the garage to see what it needed to put together.
I was looking at it when it occurred to be that it had a tapered spindle instead of cottered.
so I started to remove the adjustment cup, but it's in there. Best I can figure is that the wrong cup was forced into the BB shell.:foo::mad:
The frame has a 57cm top tube, a 57cm seat tube (measured from center of BB to top of the top tube)
The fork, the headset, simplex shifters and the neck are all fine, but the frame, it's a loss:crash:
Take a look, if there's something there that's useful to you, it's yours for the price of shipping.
