Not quite vintage . . . early c/f tandem with c/f lugs. 36,000+ miles on the odo.
BB lugwork; full tandem; c/f adjustable stoker stem.

Anyway, a couple of mine I haven't posted in here. Not my bike, but was one of the bikes at the 2014 Sydney Classic Bike Show. The BT Superbike, my fav for the day. This is a special bike made for the Aussie track team by RMIT. I found a road version of the frame on eBay, but it went for $660 even if it were in a broken state.

From a builder of your caliber, I am immensely flattered.

It is 650c, and only made in one size that year, 56cm. thirdgenbird sent me a heads-up on the wheels, so I now have 3 spare sets of 650c wheels....I've located, literally overnight, an integrated stem/bar combo in CF, so I'll "fix" that, and the saddle tilt is exaggerated by the camera angle (note the rails are level).That Vetta TT saddle is, IMO, one of the best ever made for TT/Tri's. Super light, comfortable, but on road bikes, a bit "not enough."

Trying to work a deal for a 200SCi, but the going is slow. I built it and gave it to the present owner, as a gift, and now he wants credit for trading it in on another bike. That would be like paying for it twice, unless my logic is flawed.

UPDATE: My logic was flawed. I have secured the 200SCi in trade. No way can I duplicate QV's raspberry dessert (mine is green) but I hope to have it up and running soon. It will be a '95 "sister bike" to the Trek below.

Work in progress, picked up some CF bars in 26.0 on a trade, so they'll go on it...

Just finished building this Carbone + 7 with a Spidel group (thanks Ivan), Cinelli bar and stem, alloy railed turbo saddle, mavic seatpost, period silca frame pump, and new decals. I estimate the weight as shown to be around 18 pounds. I need to glue the tires and take it for a spin.

As posted in this forum recently, my next C&V CF build:

My ultimate C&V CF grail bike, the Peugeot PY10FC.
Just missing the appropriate Simplex derailleur set, clamp on retrofriction shifters, proper handlebars and seat post and tubular tires for the wheelset I already have for it. Will take some time to complete as I have to build up a budget to get all those missing items.... At least the hardest part to find is in, the frameset in great condition...

I am also biased towards the Kestrels, so am enjoying seeing the latest from Robbie and QuangVuong.

Well, I'm done. My foray into older carbon fiber began with a Centurion Dave Scott Ironman Carbon, and pretty much ends with this 1998 Y-Foil. It came in as a purchase, was traded out to a guy who (IMO) really messed it up, then he sold it to someone else 100 miles away. Then he bought it back, then he messed it up some more, and finally sold the frameset back to me when he'd buggered it some more. I had to stop the insanity.

It was dirty, appeared either ridden hard and neglected, or just neglected. Somehow, he decided to keep the Chris King headset cap, expander and bolt, but heck, there's a carbon one in there now, so it works. The BB was an external cup, and he'd destroyed it trying to get it out (those things really need the best tool you can afford). I cut out the BB with a hacksaw blade, re-chased the threads, did some sanding and some touchup. After that, it was a dive into the parts box, and a strip of some parts from the OCLV 5500 above.

It's done, and the only change may be a stem swap. 16.4 lbs, so while old carbon is definitely heavier than new carbon, it doesn't have to be. I resisted the urge to go with Spinergy Rev-X wheels, had these co-op wheels available, and used 'em. DA 7700 where it moves chain, other pieces as available.

Hopefully, this will explain why the Trek OCLV and the Kestrel 200SCi are now for sale. Too many is simply that. I'm keeping the '98 Kestrel Airfoil and the '98 Trek Y-Foil (no seat tube madness?) and the others can go where they'll be ridden and hopefully, not messed up over and over.

Nice one. Looks amazing condition too! I picked up a carbon peugeot not too long ago as well. The Carbon Pro model which came out a couple years after yours in 89. Main triangle tubes have been scratched away due to damage to the clear coat by the previous owner, and that's why it's missing the decals. The remaining 2 are the head tube and the Carbone frame material ones. Will be getting the decals made up soon, and a strip and repaint.



And nice work on those bikes RobbieTunes. Difference to me is that it seems like you've got a never ending supply of nice wheels and parts.
