Here's a Dx-5000. Tange 1 tubing. Shimano 600 groupo. Anyone know the year?

I wouldn't know the seatpost diameter offhand, but if you have access to calipers you can measure the seat tube. Which will probably be the best way of knowing, because after twenty years the tube might have become pinched due to over-tightening.

I misplaced my vernier caliper somewhere...I guess that with pinched seat lug vernier c. is not that helpful cause it has circa 1 cm "depth" range, thanks for advice anyway, maybe some one has tange infinity Panasonic of that era, that would be helpful

That PR-3000 is making me all sweaty, lol. This is not nearly as nearly as nice(scratch on non-ds top tube hurts so much!) but I picked this up yesterday for $140. Full 600 STI. Can't figure out the year or model though. Serial # is 7K02154, so should be November 1987 from what I've read. Doesn't look like anything in the catalog though, and fork look different from others of that year.

1988 Panasonic DX-5000
I documented this bike in another thread, but it belongs here, too. Tange Prestige tubeset, Shimano Tricolor 600 groupset (with bonus seatpost), Araya CTL 370 wheels, ready to party in NOLA.

Picked up this (what I believe to be) 1987 DX-3000 this morning. Here is it...as I found it. Haven't even wiped it down yet. So far - I can't find a scratch on it. Pleased to add it to my collection. I think it will look good sitting beside my 1988 DX-4000.
There used to be a great website with all kinds of information on Panasonics but I can't see to find it. Am I just looking in the wrong place?
Also curious as to what you all would recommend as a nice period correct saddle to put on this bike. That nasty gel "thing" will not stay. Also think about those yellow and black Panaracer tires.

That's a beauty. Are you sure it's not just a gel cover over a good saddle? That's happened to me before. IMO a Concor, Turbo, Regal, or Flite would be suitable, or whatever you and your bum think is right.

I think you were looking for the www.panasonicbikemuseum.info, which seems to have gone missing (or at least lost their domain). There's still a sister Facebook page. Unfortunately, the way the website was set up doesn't allow the Wayback Machine internet archive to access it. Hopefully this is just a temporary issue, since it was a cool site and a source of good info.
As for saddle, my '88 DX-5000 came with a Selle Italia Mundialita saddle. I'm not a fan of the really long sides, but it was otherwise fairly comfortable. I see them in various colors on ebay for not too much $.

Thanks for the information gentlemen. I did double check. It's not a cover...it's a saddle. Good suggestions on saddle replacements. Thanks again.

1976 Panasonic Professional - found this as a just a frame. The gold paint is flaking off a bit but I like the look. Built it with 9spd stuff around the only fork I had on hand that fit. Originally had 1st gen Dura-ace. It's still in the bar/lever positioning stage and I'll post better pics once the bike is finished and cleaned up.

Does this count?
Panasonic made it for Schwinn, 1992 Series 5 Paramount.

Question...
I had a 64cm Panasonic road bike, I believe from 1982 (couldn't find a number on her anywhere), that was all chromed. I've tried to find out if that was a custom order, or if that was a finish readily available. Might anyone know?

If I remember right, the DX2000 was available in all chrome.

Nice
I am now a Panasonic owner. Picked up a really original 56cm (my size!) 1985 Team Europe II w/full Campagnolo Victory on Craigslist a little while ago. Below is an 'as purchased' picture. It's currently totally disassembled and I'm going through every component, cleaning, lubing, prepping to get it back on the road. Really looking forward to getting back on a bike, and I think this will be a good one.

This is not mine , I thought this was a pretty good price . 10 yrs. ago this prolly would have gone for 1K . Someone buy it and restore it to it's former glory and ride track .

1988 DX4000 I just picked up last night and rode this morning - it's a very nice bike. Tange 1 for this year, but it has a mismatched rear hub and rum (RX100 instead of 105). It'll get the full treatment come fall.
