The Bianchi is Finally Finished!!
Finally got done restoring the bike a ferw weeks ago. PastorBob had a sneak peak at it, and now im showing it to the rest of the forum. Bike is a 1984 Bianchi Nuovo Racing that I picked up on CL last November. Let me know what you think.
As Purchased: Bike was original down to tubes and tires.

Finished Product:

Bike is casually for trade/sale in passing conversation with people. I ended up putting about $375 into the whole thing which included the bike itself, new tires, tubes, spokes to relace the wheels, tape, cables, pads, chain, Brooks(!!!), etc. Rides nice, but being a bigger guy, the bike flexes like crazy when I get on it. SO while I appreciate the bike as a piece of art, I dont see it becoming a regualr rider unless I drop alot of weight.

We've got three of the modern Bianchis, 2 in celeste, but they're just not the same as those classic oldies!
Did you consider having the celeste repainted, japollner?

I thought about it. The decals were all in okay shape. Some were peeling and I took those and ripped off the peeling parts so that it wouldnt spread. There are only a few spots where the paint was rough...chip off the down tube from the brake, a small bubble on the base of the head tube and a few scrapes here and there. In the end, I kept it original just because I didnt have the money to repaint.
I am hoping to keep it around for a while and possibly sell it on ebay. I wont lie and say the thought of selling the parts off and fixing it hadn't come to mind, but now after riding it, I think its better I went this route. I would have been worried about frame flex had that road been gone down.
In other news...anyone interested in trading for a vintage track frame?

It's way to tall for me, and I already have a slightly older, but very similar Bianchi, so I think I'll pass. Great bike, though!

Love the Bianchi!
Nice bike! It looks like one of the first Bianchi's I have ever seen when I was a kid living in Italy. If you can, lose the weight! These Bianchi bikes are just a joy to ride! Attached is a photo of a Bianchi I stumbled on in a Pawn Shop near a military base and was just beside myself when I saw how little they wanted for it. I had to put zero into it beside the cost of what the Pawn Shop wanted. It was like new about 10 years ago. Love that bike. Rides so well!

and +1 on the Erilium's. These tires are awesome for the price you pay.
