BTW, if you are looking to make more room, it appears to be my size, 57cm X 57cm I'm guessing.

Wayne, that is awesome and the only thing missing in my opinion is a pair of cruiser handlebars and a basket or two :) Outstanding work!

OH! If you want a chainguard I'll donate it if it will fit. PM me!

Where did you get the kickstand? I've been looking for another one for my Schwinn but I end up looking in eBay Motors for motorcycle parts instead and that too is sparce!

MetinUz 01-10-11 09:02 AM

My first Bianchi, I want to give it a chance to win me over. I would have preferred a Celeste one, or an older Specialissima. I may change the rear derailleur to SR, and put on tubular wheels.

noglider 01-10-11 10:28 AM

I used to use that two-legged display stand as a repair stand. I was poor, and it's not good for the back, but it works. And it's portable.

curbtender 01-10-11 06:21 PM

I picked one up at a garagesale being sold as a guitar stand. Never know what you'll find...

Nashbar 7000r.

Need to date the parts to try to figure out the year. I didn't specifically ask the owner if he bought it complete but I think he did. Doesn't fit the Bikepedia descriptions for the 93 and 94. Full 105 SC double. Araya Super Aero wheels. The Brifters are gummed up but should free up like the last pair I picked up. Near perfect.
Frame is Tange #1 I believe and it has a brushed nickle finish. Frame is for sale for sure since it doesn't fit anybody in the house. not sure what I am going to do with the wheels but had to have them when I saw them. Price was a good flippers price but it needs a full lube.

Oh its your cat. I was gonna ask if he came along with the bike. Bike looks about his size.

What Vitus tubed bike is that?

This is more or less a repost. I acquired this Trek 6000(I think it's a 91 or 92) for free a few months back. It was on it's way to get melted down when I found it. I find it hard to believe so many folks will toss out stuff like this, and those same people are swarming to the dept stores to buy Magna/Pacific?whatever other junk. This is a fairly decent bike and will last a long time. It was missing wheels, seat/post, and brakes.

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/f...t/IMG_3623.jpg

I finally got around to building it up. From the looks of it upon teardown, it has been outside for a long time. However, it cleaned up pretty well, and went together nicely. I had some wheels, brakes, and a seatpost laying around, so the only money invested was the seat($10). I will buy all new cables in the next few weeks, but the old cables are in OK shape for now. I am pretty happy with the finished product, and my 10 year old Daughter has been ogling over it since I have had it on the stand.

It is a just a little big for her, but by late spring/summer it should fit her. This will replace her 24" wheel GT that she has almost outgrown.

Cannondale is Cannondale size 63, which is really a 61 in the real world. TT is 58c-c so is shortish and is "crit geometry" with the 74 degree head angle.
Wheelbase is 38-3/4".

My white Crit Cannondale is a 60, which is more of a 58 in the real world. TT is 56c-c and the wheelbase is 38"

Where'd you find it? Was it on eBay?

I wanted another day and finally wrote - it was still there. Played email tag and it had been up four days before I got to see it. I was the first person to bother to come on out and grabbed it. It included a beautiful extra set of Roval wheels that he'd taken off and replaced with Miche/Saturnes!
He was the original owner, and I don't think it was on the street since the early 90's.

My underlying theme of my whole collection is "bottom feeder" and "luck of the draw".

My buddy sold this one a little while back. You get a good deal?

Thank you

She's a great kid and yes, she digs the Fab Four. I only hope that this 'new' bike will encourage her to ride off road more with me. So far, she hasn't been too excited about getting dirty on a bike.

I just grabbed this little '76 Schwinn Pixie from the thrift store. It's all original and seems to be lightly ridden/stored inside, even the tires are still good! Spent an hour cleaning and repacking bearings, and it's sure to make some little kid pretty happy.

I picked up this today

http://sheldonbrown.com/bridgestone/...ne-1988-07.jpg

Well, it's not quite as nice as the one in that photo... actually it looks like a pos at this time. I will post up some polaroids of it tomorrow. It's all there, but has obviously led a hard life. Should be a fun project though.

I am sure that you'll have it looking like the one in the photo in no-time-flat!
Have fun with your project Roger!
( How much fun would it be if you bought it already looking like the catalog photo? Anyway? )

I like the stiff link on the chain in that catalog photo...

Jealous of your find though, I would love an old MB series to beat around on.

Wow. I can laugh now that I see it, but you are one perceptive dude, 4Rings6Stars!

Roger M 01-23-11 11:06 AM

The chain is designed with that stiff link incorporated into it... in order to work smoothly with the Biopace chainrings.. :innocent:

Well, here it is.

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/f...t/IMG_4274.jpg

I have never had the urge to touch up the paint on any of my bikes(they haven't been as scraped up as this), but I will be on the lookout for some grey touch up paint for this one. I only wish it were two sizes bigger.

If you decide to get rid of it, I know somebody in Boston who might be interested...

4Rings6Stars, I will keep you in mind if I decide to get rid of it. Hwoever, if you happen to know anyone with a decent French 80s era brake set(calipers,levers,hoods)....

On another note.. I dont think I posted this before. I picked this up several months ago. It's not perfect, but still C&V. 85 Collegiate.
