That's a really nice, smokin' hot deal Smokinapankake ! For a moment though I had to run out to the garage to see if mine (^) was still there ;). Now I can't help wondering if these two are related in some way.

I've found it easiest to post pics on this forum is to first post them to a free picture website like Flickr or Photobucket and then post a link.

Wow Auchencrow, that is exactly the match I've been wanting to my ladies' frame Suburban! Very nice indeed!

Nothing at the flea market lately, but this morning I had a nice find as I was leaving. A set of rims with black Shimano hubs, black spokes, and Mavic semi aero black rims. Straight as an arrow, with
3000 Continental tires. The price was a whopping $30, less than the cost of one tire:-). I asked about the bike they came from, but he didn't speak English very well. I WILL be going back next weekend
to see if it shows up with no rims on it:D.,,,,BD

Okay here's the first and one of the best deals I have ever gotten on anything, including a bike.
Motobecane Super Mirage (the Bikes Direct one that everyone rags on) about a 25lb bike supposedly CroMo, but with Shimano Sora Flight Deck components.
I have never had a bike with finger shifters before and this thing is fun to ride. Came without tires and tubes, so... the bike was only $30. And it came with a vintage Jeunet french Frame and another old beater Motobecane vintage frame for free.
Bike - $30
Tires and Tubes at the LBS (coulda gotten em for cheaper but, hey support the LBS) - $100
Grand Total - $120

Not bad for a bike that retails for $500 +. And it is the right size and etc. too. I may wind up selling to a friend to get him in to street riding.

But here is the deal that I am excited about. I have a pretty neat circa 1984- 1985 Fuji collection, around the time they were using the top notch Suntour components, and Quad butting their frames, and hand making all their higher end models. I am fond of the ones that have the contrasting color badge where the headbadge is supposed to go. I have the 85 Club Fuji (Red&Yellow) that I scored for $165. I have the 1985 Fuji Opus (Mist&Burgundy&Black) that I stole for $250. Now I have the matching 1984 year Team Fuji as well (Blue&Yellow). It just popped up out in the suburbs, on Craigslist. It was sitting in storage for 18 years. Price - $150, got it yesterday, only ever used for a couple Tri-s back in the mid 80's according to the owner.. This bike weighs in at about 20lbs (once I take off all the 1980's triathalon areo handlebar parts). It is quad-butted, has cool lugs, the good Suntour Cyclone MarkII shifter group and all original decals and paint and it even still has the original bar tape on it.

I will of course be in the market for a new set of tires & tubes but man I am excited to put a set of my spare suntour cyclone pedals on this thing and give it a spin.

Bianchi Adventurer restoration

Found a real beauty recently. When I found it, there were all sorts of stickers and attachments that needed to be removed(including a handmade aerobar set...very tacky). After a good re-greasing and checkup, it rides great. I think it's a 1982 model. Very sturdy and lightweight rims made for Presta valve tubes. Price, $20:)

Anyone have other info on the Adventurer model. I have compared the ride to a few other bikes and this one is now my ride of choice.

Skyway bikes?

Found an interesting old bike the other day. A Skyway(Japan made) bicycle. One of the oddities was the seat post; it adjusts like the handlebar assembly! You have to remove the seat, loosen the top screw on the post and then re-tighten it before replacing the seat.

Not the most efficient way to adjust the seat height! But, overall, it's pretty neat with the old chrome fenders and lights.Attachment 133713

Well, my wife picked up the Bianchi basketcase, so I think that finishes the week. Bike is in worse shape than it appears in this picture, but it has some Campy parts that look worth saving. It also came with derailleurs, stem, handlebars, levers, shifters, etc. in needs work condition.

So it took me a while to put it together, but you actually got that Bianchi from me. There was a thread I started when I picked it up that declared the spot of rust on the seatstay worrisome, but hopefully you can get something useful out of the pile of parts that you now have.

Yes, that rust on the seat stay is questionable. Its kind of odd, as internal rust is minimal. That makes two pick ups from fellow BF members from my Atlanta trip.

BTW: Your C/L ad was very upfront and honest as to condition. I must say that is rare! Well done.

Nice find! I see no rear derailer hanger though - is there evidence that one has been removed from the dropout? (kittens?)

Adventurer or Advantage? it looks alot like a '90 Advantage. can you tell us more about it? it looks like basic Shimano SIS with thumb shifters, are the rims Araya SP-20 with QRs?

the decals put this in the '90 - 91 time frame.

I scored a few small things on ebay lately. All were local pickup of course so no shipping.

$42.50 for some Mavic GP-40 tubular rims laced to cartridge bearing suntour hubs (honestly the smoothest hub I have spun to date), vittoria rally tubulars (one unused) and a suntour 6 speed freewheel. I am very pleased with these wheels and will put them on my Raleigh Professional after I clean them up.

$1.00 Reg water bottle cage

I've got a bit of polishing to do here:

Sounds like an early Bridgestone bike (pre-Bridgestone Kabuki). Some Kabukis had those seat posts. There was actually a Skyway model in the Bridgestone Kabuki line-up at least in the '70s. There were also inexpensive "Skyway" bikes sold in department stores in the late 1960s.
