Funny, someone posted this today as well..https://cgi.ebay.com/MAVIC-MODULE-E-7...b23582&afsrc=1...I guess the 27" size just isn't fashionable anymore.

Not a save from the dump, but it is a catch of the day - Been a loonnnngg dry spell around here for me. Mostly because I quit looking.
I picked these up last summer.
Anyway - Overland equipment panniers. The biggest shown in the tag attached to the zipper. 50 bux for the pair from my favorite bike shop
These things are monsters! Love the 90's color scheme!

They were asking $65 and I talked him down to $40. I aslo picked up a box of 150 CDs for $20. After ripping them I have already shipped about 50 of tehm on SwapaCD.com. It was a good yard sale day. I plan on cleaning up the Gary Fisher (it's is mechanically very sound, just a little dirty) and then selling it on craigslist. Still researching what price I should ask.

I just finished a Trek 4300 that I only paid $30 for. I have it listed for $300 and have a few bites.

Great deal on that GF. As far as what to sell it for, on C/L, all markets are local. Watch the action on your C/L for a while, back it up with a search on jaxed and ebay completed auctions, and go for it. In my area, I do not get ebay type pricing.
Typically I use a Free Craigslist Reader that lets me do global searches on CL across the country. That lets me see what others are asking. I think this is a later model GF (1998 maybe), so it won't bring the $800-$1000 that newer ones might. I am thinking of starting it around $500 and see where it goes.

You should take a look at SwapaCD. It is a pretty easy way to unload your CDs. If you don't what to use the credits for other CDs, you can always sell the credits for about $2.50 on their CD Bazaar forum. I have been rotating my music through there for a couple of years now.

BikePedia pegs it as a 2000 model.

Bikes: Eight of them...

I looked for this thread before I made my own. I guess I was too tired and missed it.

Found a 1980 Fuji Sports 12 at the dumpster behind my apartment complex the other day, with all the original components (Minus seat and seatpost) plus some addons. It needs some love, but I'll be able to clean it up fairly well, I think.

Comes with Suntour derailers and shifters, steel Sugino crank, Dia Compe brakes and levers, Nitto bars and stem.

Bikes: Dahon Eco 3

After almost one year (for lack of time) I've cleaned up and made some changes to the bike I've brought back to the road.
Here is the before and after.
The bike is a Liberati (bicycle maker in Rome, Italy) and I love the way it rides.

hope you like it

Bikes: 2013 Specialized Roubaix Expert, 1987 Centurion Ironman Expert

Picked this bike up off Craigslist while I was back home in Houston for Spring Break. Happened to be a couple neighborhoods over. Price? $30.

It's exactly my size! My plan is to convert it to SS or fixed and be my campus beater.

If anyone has any details of what year and model this bike is, that'd be great! The frame is in excellent condition and will definitely clean up well. It has Shimano shifters and derailleurs. Maillard Helicomatic rear freewheel hub. Weinmann centerpull calipers and 27" wheels. Serial # Y5C7 39343.

Sorry for the low quality iPhone 2g pics!

Everything but the Shimano shifters seems to look like 1984 P8.

FYI - I have an 83 PH10S which I enjoy.

Just picked this up from my neighbor as he was throwing it in the dumpster. All it needs is new tires and cables.

I would love to find that in the trash, instead of the more likely Huffy 'gem' that I occasionally stumble upon.

I asked why he was throwing it away and he said, "I haven't ridden it in a year and the tires are flat". I was thinking, are you Fing kidding me! I asked if he cared that I take it and he was more than happy to hand it over. I have already cleaned it, put new cables, and brake pads on it. The wheels are crazy straight and all I need now are some tires. I thought about selling it, but I think this is going to be my "beater" bike that I am not so worried about locking outside downtown.

On the Gitane, the crank set on it looks like a mid-1970s Sugino. IMHO, would look better with the second (the original?) set he gave you. Hopefully they weren't cross-threaded and stripped out.

they are in good shape, even came with a matching bottom bracket! Just a little pedal rub on the non drive side, but the threads look good.

Bikes: everywhere

I pulled a hunk o' junk MTB out of the dumpster yesterday that had some sweet GT pedals and a servicable wheelset with Altus/Acera/Alivio Parallax hubs.

Glad I had some 1/2" pedal adapters around the house so I could get the pedals on the KHS immediately.

If you're lucky with old Peugeots, there's a little sticker taped to the non-drive side chainstay just behind the bottom bracket that will tell you the model, frame size, and serial number. Came across three old P's lately and they all had it intact. Otherwise, you can peruse the old catalogs here:

Picked this giant up also today 60x58.5cm ctc, so it will be soon on the "frame does not fit" thread. Columbus SP and beautiful lugwork though. Interesting red/orange with red splatter paint job too.
