No, that indicates the lug angle.

Dure ace headset and brake setup with Mathuaser pads.
Campy bar end shifters.
Campy hubs.
Suntour cyclone FD
Suntour V-GT luxe RD (Any info on this?)
The V-GT Luxe is a wide range derailleur, steel body so it's heavy but like all SunTour units it works like a champ.

Stronglight triple with Phil Wood BB
But why is there a TA dustcap in your Stronglight crank?

Bikes: I used to have many. And I Will again.

Wife called from Goodwill that she picked up a Schwinn Worldsport mixte w/ a few rusty bits but in overall good shape. I was stoked since I wanted a mixte project. But turned out to be a step-thru ladies frame.
It has Suntour Alpha 3040 6-spd Accushift, Sugino crank, Araya 27" rims, average Joytech hubs. Upright bars and a big seat for cruising.
Wonder what year it is? I suspect it's a Giant made bike, not Panasonic.
Wasn't a loss at $14.98, so I'll fix and flip it.
Sorry no pics, tore it apart already.

^ That's it! In aquamarine paint. Looks like previous owner switched the bars.
Thanks tugrul, you're quick to the draw!

Overpaid?!

Heck, I'll give you $5.00 for the Varsity by itself

I actually picked up a Continental and a Varsity to flip today, I only wish they were that cheap.

anyone know anything about Reflex? Below the rusty chain and general neglect it's a nice bike. Interesting horizontal dropouts too, so there are many possibilities for it.

This was a good weekend for me...

Scored all of this at a single garage sale for $30. Couldn't believe it. This isn't even all of it. It's just what's worth showing.

One of those Shimano Deerhead ones. It's got the all-silver look, the 28.6 clamp size, and the mountain triple cage shape going for it, and it's pretty, to boot. Not many front derailleurs seem to meet those specs. :/

My netbook does not display things well enough and was not sure that was a Deore Stag's Head... I come across those from time to time and once... I even found a set of these attached to a bike that had the rest of the group attached.

One of my best catches ever that I passed along to a friend who could really appreciate what a beautiful bike this is.

banjo - If I come across any of these will let you know... the last fd/rd set I found was beyond redemption and these rear derailleurs were not known to be all that robust although they do shift like buttah.

This is probably why they are a little rare and were the last friction group Shimano offered before they went to indexed shifters.

Wow... That Kuwahara is cool. I really like most of the old mountain bikes a lot. They're so practical for touring and commuting and off-roading, I mean, suspension is nice, but it's really only necessary for pretty intense MTB stuff, which I see as more of an extreme sport than actual cycling. This, of course, is just my opinion. Rigid MTB frames, all the way!

And thanks for keeping your eyes peeled! That, or any other FD that meets those req's would do.

And the rest of the group is so much fun, too. I had a set of those shifters, and they were great.

That's an understatement! Looks like it went to somebody who can appreciate it!

BTW, sounds like a divorce case ... ex-wife dumping her ex-husband's old stuff, or a wife dumping her husband's stuff, which will be ample grounds for a divorce.

Not a fan of the Suntour Mountech? In my experience, they perform well. I've got a bunch of those laying around.

Sorry, best pic I could find:

A few days ago I stopped in to my LBS and found this in the clearance bin. Now I have to figure out which bike to put it on....

Probably due to the weird positioning of some of the down tube shifters in the mid-1980s.

Wanted to share pictures of my new addition to the fleet….a ’72 Suburban.

Purchased the bike via a local CL ad…older gentleman who was the original ownerHe and his wife are moving to a retirement community and are in the process of selling their house and cleaning out the basement. To say this Suburban is clean doesn’t do it justice…it is immaculate. He said he hasn’t ridden it in years…it doesn’t look like it’s be ridden much at all…he said it is original down to the tires (which are in excellent shape) and the bike is as he bought it from the Schwinn shop…including headlight/generator tail light.

It’s a 24 inch frame and I think the color is Campus Green with gold accents (and please note the kustom Schwinn green bar tape on the handlebars!) Took the bike for a spin around the neighborhood and I was blown away with how nicely it rode…it rolls down the road like the bicycle equivalent of an old Cadillac…heavy and smoooooth.

Everything on the bike is in perfect adjustment…shifts through all its gears quickly and quietly, brakes stop on a dime. I bought the bike with the intent to flip it, but I love it…it’s going to be my around town errand cruiser…

Here’s a few pictures..this is how I bought it…I haven’t even cleaned it yet….

Early glued aluminum. I think the frames were made for Raleigh Technium glued aluminum too.

Mombat has a couple of old articles up:
