Why, It is special? The old Trek was according to the bike shop, a "special order bike" when new.

It looks like an 87 Prelude, according to the catalog scan here

https://www.trfindley.com/flschwinn_1...0/1987_06.html

It has indexed Shimano light action derailleurs with Dia Compe brakes

Some bikes may just be too far gone to restore. I've got to stop going to my local dump. The bikes seem to follow me home like stray cats. The Shimano LX drivetrain pried the $10 out of my wallet. It's too small for me, but I'm going to give it a shot. (This is basically my shop BTW, I believe in working in fresh air when possible.)

That's the only reason she lets me keep it in the house!

The Schwinn behind it found a new home Saturday! Thank goodness!
I had a Schwinn Avenue and major wheel problems. They offered this
one as a replacement and I took it. A 25lb truck! You didn't ride it, you
herded it!

It is... lucky. I want a 25" Prelude from that year. It lists the same 72.5 angles as the 1986 Traveler I have, and I'm hoping it has the same short top tube (~57cm).

looks better than the biscayne mtb i dragged home for $10 today.. i was hoping some of the stuf would be decent quality but the only thing worth keeping is the wheelset, though finding an older wheelset which matches my 85 diamondback's rear stays was worth the $10.. and hopefully I can sell the heavy steel riser bars to some fixie person

Less than an hour after getting the MTB it was totally stripped to the frame, and less than 30 minutes after I left the bare frame outside, it was gone

If you do a search on ebay I saw a Scotts front fork on there the other day when searching for a rear shock, I don't remember the price but I thought it looked cool.

Bikes: Too many Bicycles to list

My Boss picked this up for me last week as a trade in as he knew I would like it & I did. It's a 1996 Jamis Dakar 19" frame 8 speed XT derailleurs Mavic rims double wall with eyelets, Deore LX Parallax hubs, White Ind Crankset, Onza canti's and Avid 2.0 levers, Noleen NR Rear shock (needs a rebuild) Rock Shox Judy XC (Needs a service) and a Thomson seat post. Overall the bike itself wasn't in bad shape and it still has the original Onza Rip tires on it that aren't bad.
The shocks is where it will need some work the rear leaked all the oil out, I refilled it but the seals are gone Noleen can still rebuild it for $100 but I don't know if I want to go that route or not. The front fork is sticking and I have yet to take it apart but I already have a newer Judy C that I can replace it with if need be. The paint took some heavy scratches on the top tube but the rest isn't that bad, it has a lot of metalic in it and looks great in the sun.

I just picked up a free Peugeot yesterday. If my decidedly unexpert eyes don't deceive me, it's a U08 from somewhere in the early 70s.

Beautiful blue paint job, apparently infamous textured steel wheels, beat up original Ideale saddle. Would make a great project touring bike, but it's a 56 and I'd want a 58. Trying to decide if I should just flip it... only needs new tubes, a new rear tire, lots of oil/grease, maybe a new chain, and some new brake housing.

Above is a Chicago Built Schwinn Varsity I found at a roadside fruit and vegetable stand. I bought a watermelon and some tomatoes, talked to the owner and got the bike for free. Forgot to take a picture before I disassembled it.

Here is the final out come, except that the seatpost is now shinny and I've added some bar tape.

Bikes: Cannondale T700s and a few others

Pearl iZumi Enduro II shoes NEW in box at Performance bike tent sale. $10.00!
This may be a GA only sale. Had great prices on some discontinued bibs but none in my size.

May go back and buy the Shimano Road shoes tomorrow (same price) so I can put these Look peddles I took off a flip on my R300.

Those Onza brakes are nifty, but beware. They tend to crack if you overtighten the pinch bolt that secures the pad carrier to the arm. Of course, if you don't tighten them down, your pads will rotate, ruining your toe-in adjustment and causing various degrees of frustration. I speak from experience.

Cool bike, though. Jamis always were cool and seems to deliver more value per dollar than, say, Specialized.

One of the nicer rides ive pulled out of the trash, velo sport prestige, beautiful champagne color with marroon decal. Sadly too small for me, but looks like it originally came with an arabesque 600 group but some stuff was changed like the stem (black specialized), arx rear derailleur, front wheel looks like it was pulled from a miele with a 32h 105 front hub, has an interesting and nice looking fluted miche chainset which ive never seen before, sadly one of the 105 aero pedals seem like its stuck/corroded in the arm.

Not really C&V, but will probably help in wrenching on my junk. I've been looking for a cheap stand for a while, and I finally got one for cheap. It's an older model, but it is like new. I like that it extends upwards a lot. Most of the stands that I've seen in person are not as tall.

I still like the cradle on my old stand better(for ease of hanging the bike), but the adjust-ability of the Park stand will be nice.

^^ Hope you don't get rid of your old stand. That thing's awesome! I love the gussets and the assymetry of it. Steampunk workstand!

Thanks for the compliment. I will continue to use it, it's been a great help for the last year or so. I will probably use it for short term projects.

I kind of like the steampunk stand. Cool!

Hi my name is Jerry and my wife claims I am a bike addict...
Our community garage sale was today, and I found this less than a block from my house. Seller claims he is the original owner and bike has been hanging in his garage for at least twenty years. It will need new tires, cables, and a lot of cleaning.
From the little research I have done, it is a mid '80s Iseran. Not a high end Peugeot, but it will do for now.
The items I sold at our garage sale should cover the purchase price and the cost of anything else it needs.peugeot.jpg
