I didn't find much when I searched SR mountain bikes. The frame is too small for me(21"), so I will probably harvest the parts for other bikes. The Sugino crank isn't too common(so I'm told). It's a copy of the TA crank that is popular. The chrome fork looks exactly like the lugged Unicrown part that Schwinn used on the High Sierra. The frame sticker states 'Tange Champion Motocross'. It's probably comparable to any of the good production MTBs of that period.

Suntour XC pedals predate Suntour XC MTB components. They are BMX pedals that were "borrowed" by the MTB community rather than the other way around.

Pulled this 98 Giant Rincon from a dumpster last weekend. With a new chain and cables she cleaned up right nice.

Here is a thread on the purchase and plans. Need help with input.

That's what it looked like yesterday. Here's what it looks like today. (Still have pedals and some minors to change)

I have always heard rumors of the MTB (xc-ii) suntour bear trap pedals fetching triple digits but rumors are just rumors. That is until a few days ago I was browsing Buy It Now auctions on Ebay by newly listed and saw a set for $68 plus shipping. It was in the top maybe 20 of the list, but by the time I clicked on the link it was already sold.

So, yeah. I could see triple digts for the right pair to the right person. These pedals that sold within minutes were really ratty looking with lots of road rash on the edges.

The ones on my Miyata Ridgerunner are so clean they could almost pass for NOS- they even still have the stickers on them. I have been contemplating selling them for a while, but after seeing that auction I'm starting to give it more serious thought.

I found this bike about 2 years ago placed where it was ready to go to the metal recycler. I think it's my best trash find so far.
A nice 1940's Humber Lady.

Thanks for the info. I had these on my stumpjumper and see them on garagesale bikes. We always blew out the ends of the pedals when riding, so I can see how originals would be hard to come by.

I figure if I let the secret out, everyone will sell off their pedals, flood the market, and I'd be more inclined to keep mine because they wont be worth as much!

Beautiful, very nice find!

Picked this up recently, early 90's Burley Bongo!
As picked up, I've got some fine tuning to do.
Have been on the hunt for a good tandem at a good price for some time.
Ended up getting a great price on a great tandem!

Wow - those components span maybe four decades... or more!

Picked up this maybe 1974 Peugeot UO18 mixte. Paint is near outstanding. Should clean up well. Second thrift store find this week after declaring thrift store bike finds are dead...

Love the unusual (to me) Peugeot logo'd stem.

Took my 1974 Peugeot UO8 to college back in 1975.

My second Peugeot mixte this week. Odd.

Today's yard sale finds, Record 9/10spd hubs with open pro rims, Superbe pro track hubs, the rear is nos!
not shown is the 28h high flange record hub from the same yard sale last week (camera ran out of battery) I can't believe this stuff was still there in Berkeley of all places! Still there when I left were C-record and Dura Ace AX brake calipers, a rear 700c Shamal and a pare of 650c shamals. Lucky I did not bring more money! They will probably be there tomorrow too.

Raleigh Technium 440,

Just got back. Picked up a 1979
Schwinn Delux Varsity complete frame. pretty good shape. Wheels were junk so i left them there. will post pics later. It has the old
POSITRON grouppo. Not sure if i will restore it back to original or make it a fixed gear bike.

Will post pics later.

Another shop closed in my area. Went recently to buy up some miscellaneous take off parts. Typically, a shop is going to have some bins with take off derailleurs, headsets, misc parts, etc. This has also been where I have picked up many of my tools over the years (I don't need anymore tools, so I passed on that opportunity). This shop had some nice signs, that I thought would look good in my workshop. So I bought several signs, along with some bins of parts. The neatest sign is a lighted Raleigh sign. I don't know whether to call it neon or not, it is gas filled (per the label).

Raleigh sign not illuminated:

So someone was throwing away this frame and I snagged it. It had a manitou answer four fork on it (you can see it through the spokes on the ground), but the elastomers exploded and I can't seem to open the fork to replace them. I swapped the fork with some random one I had lying around. The derailers, wheelset, cranks, brakes, brake levers and stem all came from some trek someone was getting rid of (which I stripped and gave the frame to a friend) and put it on this. The unicantor cincelli seat was found in the trash at my apartment. The things that college students throw away when they graduate.
