Yeah, I didn't realize it. It was made in Austria

It was a good weekend for me. I also sold a Univega Gran Premio that I had listed for about 2 weeks.

I love fast turn arounds. It doesn't happen to me often enough. But I have had several yard sale finds, picked up Saturday, repaired Sunday, posted and sold Monday. Its fantastic when it happens! Well done.

It is pretty funny, with 100+ bikes in the project queue, invariably, the one I work on is the latest pickup.

Sure enough, on my work stand right now are my last two pickups. Meanwhile, prior pickups continue to wait. Finding the pieces two years later is sometimes quite a challenge.

when i tear down a bike i put all of the parts in a separate paper grocery bag for each bike.. that way all the random bits stay together

I tend to work on the latest pick ups myself though.. older pick ups that have been languishing can continue to languish :D I'm in the final stages of the Jamis build, just waiting for a new stem.. but now i'm distracted by the tandem I just got.. my girlfriend is bugging me to put it back together

Nice Miyata Ridge Runner in fair shape. Still has the original pedals and a Hite-Rite! Will make a great fat tire touring rig for someone.

Currently not working (the chain slips), but nothing is broken.

DEFINITELY a keeper.

shoota 06-08-13 03:59 PM

That's awesome! What brand is it?

IthaDan 06-08-13 04:13 PM

It's a gitane. There are more out there, but there is NOT a lot of information about it.

shoota 06-08-13 04:14 PM

I'm jealous.

No front wheel, chain on the bike but not going through the rear derailleur and the back wheel a little out of true. Sitting at the curb for trash and salavaged while rolling out for my Sunday ride.

Raleigh Olympian most likely a 1983 model.

A little horse trading today yielded these: Trek 610, haven't dug into it to nail down the year yet (I'm sure someone will tell me before I have a chance :), and a RANS Wave Recumbent. I am one of the spurned/scorned on this forum who has a thrift store connection. I don't ask for special treatment... sometimes I just get it and it feels good damn it. I traded three bikes and a wheelset.

Scored a few sets of Panaracer 27 by 1 Tri Sports in absolutely perfect (mint) condition and remember how fond I was of these tyres back in the day as they roll fast, ride extremely well, and always seemed very puncture resistant... and for $5.00 each I bought enough to last me a good long time.

As I wanted to build another set of wheels for my Peugeot AO8 I built up some Weinman 27 inch hoops (NOS) I forgot I had to some Formula fixed hubs so I could use them... as this is my beater / bar hopping /rain bike the cartridge bearing hubs will be great.

Took a little test ride and at 100 psi they are still smooth, fast, and ride beautifully and the bike is considerably quicker than it was when it was rolling on Marathons but then, I really knocked off a lot of wheel weight by losing those and the coaster hub it was running.

I don't get people. Doesn't everyone have either access to a library computer or one at home to do basic research???? Good grief, are people really so stinking lazy???? If I'd found that Ritchey, it would've cost you at least 1500% more! ;)

Love these tyres.

And I am pretty fond of the old Pug... which was a nice catch too.
