Just picked this up today for $20. Novara Ponderosa Scott Nicol design. A bit rough but nothing I can't handle. From what I've briefly searched online, it's around an '87? Should be a good project down the line:

Another cool one! Did it come with the fork?
It's great when the chainstay brakes are still on them. Makes life easier. |

Found this Varsity at a garage sale for $20. Surprisingly nice condition. It has the bike sticker from Bill's Schwinn, which was the coolest & most popular bike shop in Orange CA back in the 70's. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...ps7yfkvbsl.jpg

Cool! I keep having this evil nagging desire to build up a varsity with the nicest parts my parts boxes have to offer.... Think I may be a touch sadistic

2 for 1 deal today, nice price on the Serotta and the Schwinn 2 speed kickback thrown in for free. I've been wanting a Serotta for awhile, not really the model I wanted but it will do. Feels like it will make a great all day rider.

I know what this is besides the obvious that it's a Specialized Sequoia
For fun lets see who else does. :foo: |
I picked this up tonight. I have a weakness for inexpensive frames, and I love this color scheme.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2933/3...9d37139b_b.jpg It needs a bit of work, but I think it'll be a fun project. |

Thank you for removing the temptation Andy.;)

Nice grab! Looks like a fun project indeed. I dig the paint scheme as well, and I ALWAYS love to see a Centurion saved. I definitely have a thing for the brand... Looking forward to seeing it come back to life! :thumb:
There's a small dent in the underside of the top tube and some weird indentation that look more like sloppy construction than crash damage around the shifter bosses. Overall, I think it's in pretty good shape. I got it for $40 so not a lot of risk, apart from the risk of how much money I might sink into components. The guy I bought it from said he had it built up with full 6700-series Ultegra -- a man after my own heart! Right now, I'm thinking maybe tri-color 600 with downtube shifters, but I also have a set of 10-speed Tiagra bits that might find there way onto this bike. |

I missed this until now. It's an '81, right? Is it a Konno?
Hate it's not my size! |

Free from the local dump. Vitus/Cilo, DA 7400 components, Campagnolo Record Pista hubset, Ambrosio rims, and Cinelli Cirterium bar. My son and I are having fun bringing this bike backs to its glory days.

If anyone has some DA 7400 junk they want to get rid of, they can toss it in the dumpster back of my place. Actually, just place it on the lid. I'll know what to do with it. ;)

Picked up this 531 Trek today, haven't had time to check numbers. Cyclone front and rear derailleurs, 600 stem, Superbe calipers and Campy Record hubs. Also came with a Brooks Pro saddle.

Fairfax County, VA. My dad swung by for his spring mulch run (also free) and noticed it driving past the area where folks dump their bikes (said to be a big pile). He even asked the attendant if it was okay to take her home. This is a win/win for me. Makes for a fun project w/ my 13-yr old son and gets me back in the saddle after a 10 year hiatus (and the 30 lbs it brought). Looking forward to hit the W&OD trail this Sunday. It will be a first for him and I hope the start of a new something we can do together. Starting in Leesburg and heading south.
Have fun riding it. |
Pinarello Speziel Sutterlin
I'm after some advice on the history of the Pinnarello Speziel Sutterlin. My friend is moving from Romania to Australia and he asked me if I wanted to buy a Sutterlin he had come across and he would throw it in with his move. He paid $AUS200.00
My intention is to re-build it with some minor mod/comfort upgrades but would like to know if anyone is aware of where this bike sat on the Pino hierarchy back in its day and also it's years of manufacture. |
