That centerpull hanger still in the headset stack should give you a clue. Nice find. Is the frame your size?

Yep, that was my clue. Also the cables and brakes are obviously newer and aren't routed using the toptube brazons. It looks to be my about my size (56ish).

Really didn't need another project. I think this would polish up nicely for someone. The saddle is a "Brooks B15 Campion Narrow" which I think I'll try out shortly.

Oh it just became a future wall piece. Too many scratches and chips that it would need a repaint. I just sealed everything under several coats of clear. It's not my size so I can't really ride it. Nor do I want to sell it. lol
Keep us upto date with a build!

Just picked a Team Miyata road bike, hodgepodge components including 600 equipped shifters and changers, Campagnola Gamma Strada wheels, Royal Compe II brakes, dia compe levers & hoods. It is way too small for me but it should be a nice bike for my daughter. Will have to post pics after a tear down rebuild. These were Miyata's top of the line frame. Original owner said he originally bought frame for almost $1K plus had to fork over another $600 to get it built to current specs.

Fellow rider brought his son's bike by after he said he had no interest in it. 1977 Schwinn Scrambler...

I'm happy about my Rocky Mountain Sherpa 30.

Found this abandoned with a ton of stuff some bike dude dumped at the Queen Anne bowl, just a bare frame with a headset.

sloar 12-06-16 05:50 PM

Picked this Ironman up today on a whim, this was the only pic that they offered. The frame has a few rust spots on the cable guides, but it has a really nice 600 Tricolor group and hubs.

Ha- one of the Ironmen I picked up had the exact setup. Had to hacksaw the bars off - bar tape had dried on so bad.

I picked up these two LeMond frames recently for next to nothing. The previous owner dug them out of a dumpster. The red is a Buenos Aires and the red/yellow one is a Maillot Jaune. Both are Reynolds 853. I picked up a carbon fork for the Maillot Jaune and plan on building it up. I plan on selling the other frame.

Someone told me triathlons have a "no drafting" rule. So I figure they make the cockpit so ugly, no one wants to be seen near you.

I got this '87 Trek 560EX by responding to a curb-alert on C-List. It had all of the 600EX components! I didn't get a good "before" picture, but it was missing the wheels and had hideous, crusty tri-bars mounted on Cinelli pursuit bars (26.4) jammed into the original stem. Swapped those for Nitto stem and bars, added Sun ME14a rims with Ultegra 9spd hubs and DuraAce indexed shifters. Hoping to sell it locally before Christmas.

tiredhands, nice curb find! Looks like you put a lot into it, but it was worth it.

Thanks! I think it was worth it, it is a very nice ride.

On the other end of the restoration spectrum, yet still a nice ride, is this old Azuki 10 speed that I've simplified to take out on paths and easy trails. A friend of mine got it for free from a yard sale after it didn't sell and they were going to throw it out. I was going to pass, but it had alloy rims and an aluminum seatpost, so I tossed it together with some parts from the bin. It's a lot of fun on some easy singletrack.

Picked up this Fuji Roubaix over the weekend...for free.

Responded to an ad that had one picture of the bike, with the wheels off and it upside down on the side of a house.

Here she is:

Tha aero bars are coming off, and it will need a new chain and cables. But it's hard to beat the price.

Jumped on these two on CL last night and picked them up today, free. Trek 2120 and a Gary Fisher Mt. Tam. The Trek isn't my size but I can ride the Fisher. Will sort them out soon.

Probably the last pickup of the year for me. Has eyelets for fenders so may convert to a single speed rain Bike.
Judging by rusty chain and stuck post, she has spent some time in the elements. Hopefully the PB blaster will help.

Raleigh Capri

Picked up this mid '80s Raleigh Capri last night. It's in rough shape, and not the greatest bike to begin with, but for $20 I figured it would be fun to clean up and put back on the road :)

I have mixed feelings about bringing this one home. It was found at the local co-op months ago and adopted at Christmastime, a Swiss-made Condor ladies' 21" 3-speed. It has 700C alloy wheels and a Sturmey hub. Missing the handlebars and grips. Priced at $30, it was considered to be very affordable by Santa. We don't need this bike. My wife already has a ladies' Sports that she does not ride in addition to her other bikes that she does not ride. I have plenty of bikes of my own. We don't have the space to spare for this one, but it's so cute and the details are so intriguing that I could not resist, and I would really like to find it a nice home.

But first I'm going to test out the wheels on my Pro frameset to see if it is path-racer-worthy. If so I can build new wheels for that bike. If we decide to keep this one for my wife I can strip the small Sports in order to use the parts on other bikes (bars and grips on this one, later alloy sidepull calipers and levers on my Sports that has those parts in steel, rear Sturmey hub to rebuild on 700C for the Pro, etc.).

That is a sweet looking Condor, and for $30 too! I love the chain guard - are the fenders chromed steel?
