$20 pickup today, while at work. For my drop bar project. Should make a decent gravel bike.

Great buy! I got one as my back-to-school commuting machine and liked it a lot but it got stolen from campus. Mine was wheelie-prone, easily picking up the front wheel when accelerating from a stop. Trust me, that ability did not come from my riding.

Freebie from the LBS. Owner didn't know he still had any left over from when they sold GT... and didn't care.

It will make a great hat or shop apron hanger in the shed.

Yeah, I'm going to push my luck and show the Wife it would make a dandy toilet paper holder for the bathroom!

Should be interesting tonight.

Check that Crankset, it may be the Shimano Warranty crankset, I have got more then ten of those Warranty kits all from Treks.

I changed it up a bit while at work this morning. I’m not a fan of the cranks or front derailleur

Not sure, no markings.

Found this Sears three speed next to a dumpster! Looks like it was made in Austria? Not sure of the vintage, but I'm guessing 60's era. The hub is 'Torpedo' brand, with a coaster brake. Is it worth fixing up?

I'm keeping my eyes open for one of those Multitracks - sweet bikes! Ideally, it would be a cheap frame set + components, as I recently found a nice wheelset to set aside for the future project.

Sure! If someone in your family can't use it, then find a kid in the neighborhood who needs a bike and be a hero. A Sturmey indicator chain and cable should work to get it shifting and it might not need much else. Good on you for saving it. I did that with one I found in our old 'hood and gave it to a single mom of three for her oldest daughter.

My neighbor gave me this Fuji Charleston cruiser this morning. It was going to be trashed by her brother-in-law because it didn't work, so she decided to save it. It has a Nexus 3-speed coaster brake hub and is in pretty good condition after spending a year or so outdoors.

I put air in the tires, removed a rear fender, adjusted the seat and shifter, and went for a ride.I don't need another bike, but I don't have a cruiser. I think that I may keep this through the summer, and then donate it to the coop.

Yesterday I paid a scrapper $4 for a 1984 CroMo Schwinn World Sport frame on the way to be recycled. Had to dig it out from under a hot water heater and a washing machine.

This thread is overly large and not functioning properly. If the OP, cuda2k, doesn't mind, can a moderator close this one and we can start a new one, please?

Concord venture. This bike is in really nice shape. Not much info on the inter webs. Serial go484 on bottom bracket. How about that rear view mirror. Cyclometer works. Paint is darn near flawless. Alloy wheels. My son plays basketball and we had a tourney this weekend out of town. This bike was for sale nearby. I think after a good rub out and wax and chrome polish it should look great.

Univega Nuovotech 450 survivor

Picked up a late 80’s Univega Nuovotech 450. This was the original owner of the bike and a new set of tires will make this bike like it just came out of the LBS. Full Exage Sport group,Vetta saddle and Weinnman wheels. Not bad for $25

mountaindave 04-01-18 10:02 PM

Wow, that Univega looks like it was ridden a few times and hung up for the last thirty years!

That’s exactly what the owner told me. It was also from a local shop I used in the early 90’s.
